How To Use
STEP 1 – PRE-COLOURING: Remember to be colour safe and always do your patch test 48 hours before using this L'Oreal Preference silver hair dye, even if you have already used colouring products before. Please follow the instruction leaflet and read the safety information.
STEP 2 – PREPARATION: Cover your shoulders with a towel and put on the gloves. Open the colouring bottle and pour it entirely into the developer bottle. Close with the applicator tip and shake it to obtain a completely even mixture. Twist off the applicator tip immediately to avoid bursting and damage from the product overflowing.
STEP 3 – APPLY COLOUR: Part your hair into small, even sections and apply the silver grey hair dye. Refer to instructions for development time. Apply conditioner that preserves the silver hair colour and then rinse thoroughly.

I bought the grey hair dye, and oh my god.
Back story, I’m 25 and have been searching for years since I was 17 to find a way to keep my hair GREY/SILVER. After bleaching and using LIVE hair products and it washing out within days it was, 3 months ago, my last ditch effort with to try this brand.
IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
I have fallen in love with this colour and have had soooo many compliments and people asking who did it, where I got it done ect, all to be so shocked when I tell them I do it myself with a BOX DYE!!! Seriously, I am in love.

A beautiful silver permanent colour

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A beautiful silver permanent colour but you do need fairly light hair to start with to achieve it with this shade. It will also work for toning very light orange/yellow hair but not too a silver shade but more even blonde. I do like these vivid colours but find they can be a bit hit and miss with results. Like many dyes you need to be at least blonde to try these and it really needs to be virgin hair (No dye) or lightened with bleach as tint on tint will just give you a darker result. I found the silver only lasted around 3 weeks (I was twice a week for reference) and then faded to a white ashy blonde. My hair is lightened though so this could be due to porosity.

My hairs thick & needs toning daily to keep its grey shade. I found the instructions easy & everything required is in the box! Application was very easy to do my self. Once washed and styled its the most perfect metallic silver/grey. My hair was soft felt really conditioned & looks amazing so many people have commented how good it looks! Loriel, you did me proud!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely live L'Oréal Préférence hair dyes and I'm also known for dying my hair a multitude of colours. I have dyed my hair silver before using natural dyes and toners but they always fade back to a brassy blonde and take so long to achieve the desired colour. This was incredibly easy and I reached my desired shade in just one use which has lasted without any return of that brassy hue. It left my hair feeling healthy and soft and looked incredibly shiny. I love that L'Oréal have expanded their range of colours to include hues that aren't quite the mainstream, meaning you have the chance to experiment with your hair colour and bring some fun into your style. I would absolutely recommend the L'Oréal Préférence range to all my family and friends as well as anyone else looking to change up their look and style.

This ruined my daughter’s hair. My daughter wanted helps hair (the vivid range) and we pre lightened to a light brown like the pack suggested (blonde is not advised on the packet, her hair colour is the shade of light brown, as advised). The pack shows a vivid purple from light brown hair but that’s not the case! Her hair has turned a dark brown, black with a shimmer of purple in the light! I am absolutley fuming! Will never buy L’Oréal again.

Silver grey review.

I bought the silver grey dye at the beginning of the year to get rid of the yellow tones in my natural salt and pepper hair. I’ve used two boxes this year, the resulting grey colour was lovely, but I’m now left with blonde hair, the ‘permanent’ grey has gone and left me with bleached blonde hair with an inch of natural grey. Completely NOT what I wanted. I use purple shampoos but they never turn the blonde gray enough.

I had high hopes, i used it on my pre bleached blonde hair. In some parts worked well and gave a nice colour but most is blue! Even my roots havent taken to colour at all just slightly toned, to say my hair is a mess and a shambles and for the price im not impressed. I seriously hope that with a few shampoos it will sort out. To say my hair soft and smell ok. It was a very runny and messy product to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was excited to try this as I love my silver grey hair…. I don’t know what happened with this but it’s more blue than silver. It seems like the dye over developed on the areas where there was highlights and these are the bits that turned blue? I’m hoping after a few good shampoos it will tone down to a silver grey! Overall the dye left my hair feeling super silky and I’m good condition.

I had pink hair and decided to go silver. After having roots bleached and removing pink with colour remover my hair was very pale straw colour. I applied th colour above and the end result was rather gun metal and looked blue, green and purple in various lights. This was before I shampooed it after 3 days, to give my hair time to recover. The final result was perfect.

Instructions were really easy to follow and the product went on easily with no drips. The fragrance was pleasant. After rinsing I did find the colour a little darker than anticipated but not sure if that was because this was such a big change. I do have to say though that the shine is amazing and has stayed looking vibrant even after the first wash.

Darker than expected

Bought this last week for my very light almost white hair and it came out a lot darker than I expected with a purple tinge to it ...it lost some of the purple after the next shampoo though and did cover my hair well .I used two boxes and it did a great job of conditioning my hair is lovely soft and shiny
