How To Use
STEP 1 – PRE-COLOURING: Remember to be colour safe and always do your patch test 48 hours before using this L'Oreal Preference silver hair dye, even if you have already used colouring products before. Please follow the instruction leaflet and read the safety information.
STEP 2 – PREPARATION: Cover your shoulders with a towel and put on the gloves. Open the colouring bottle and pour it entirely into the developer bottle. Close with the applicator tip and shake it to obtain a completely even mixture. Twist off the applicator tip immediately to avoid bursting and damage from the product overflowing.
STEP 3 – APPLY COLOUR: Part your hair into small, even sections and apply the silver grey hair dye. Refer to instructions for development time. Apply conditioner that preserves the silver hair colour and then rinse thoroughly.

The worst product I've ever used
a year ago
So last night I coloured my hair using loreal prefrence vivids blue black. I have been coloring my hair for the last 20years, I always do it myself with box dye. As I mixed it I started to see that It was very runny. I started to apply and it went downhill from there. The colour dripped absolutely everywhere. It was running down my face and neck and proceeded to ruin my white bathroom in the process. All other brands of dye I have used have never dripped like that, it stays in the hair and is a bit thicker. This liquid was like oil, and since the blue black stains really badly most of my body and my bathroom are now purple.
Most unhappy, will never use again or recommend

Misleading Product

Not Blue Black at all, i purchased this under the impression it would give my hair a slight tint of blue but nope nothing just straight jet black hair. I’m really disappointed because this is absolutely not what i wanted my hair to look like jet black and now it is. Avoid buying at all costs

Lasts a while

I bought it for a Billie Eilish concert and it came out SO good. I dyed it in July and it’s still here in September, however I wash my hair 1-2 times a week which is prob why it’s still here (it’s pretty faint but you can tell it’s dyed). I would say my hair is dark brown (it does get lighter in the summer, though) so I think it turned out well considering,
One thing I will say is it KILLED my hair. It became so dry and I had sooo many split ends after it was unreal and my hair was never like this before. Weird smell when actually dying but after it was dyed I couldn’t smell anything.

I have been dying my hair black for sometime, have tried black blue in the past with no blue but as a middle aged women wanting a change I decided to give this a go and I was absolutely over the moon, was lovely hair dye to spread. No reaction, hair was not not dry when washed out, I was a little sceptical regarding the amount of blue or the lack of blue but I was very happy, my results were amazing shiny, black blue, hair colour, i will definitely be repurchase, a very happy customer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The lates new innovation from Loreal is making this gel permanent hair colour so easy to apply i use it myself at home the gel is better then before liquid hair colour which i was using the gel stays in place without making a mess , nice black colour with blue touch you can notice that my hair are more shiny, looking more healthy, i also notice that the gel dosent smell as strong as other hair colours so definitely i will be buying more

Right Product, Wrong Shade (For Me)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair is naturally soft black but starting to grey, especially noticeable around the hairline. I had intended to keep my hair natural, but was given the opportunity to try this product for free, and thought "why not?"
First time ever dying my hair, I watched many YouTube tutorials in preparation for this experiment, despite the decent instructions.
I bought hair dye kit (bowl, brush etc.), which I believe really helped with applying the dye.
I found the application easy, if not messy, (my technique has improved since).
The result kept my hair glossy and shiny. Overall, my hair just looked blacker, but where there were greys were now replaced by an electric royal blue.
I can confirm the colour is permanent and though this shade did not suit my skin tone, I have now changed to Magnetic Plum from the same range and plan to keep using this product for the immediate future.

My favourite hair colour

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] L’Oreal’s Blue Black is my favourite colour. I started to use this colour few years ago, and I still love it. It looks natural but also rebellious. Exactly what I need. It has a perfect grey coverage. L’Oreal Preference is very easy to apply and quick to wash off. Dying my hair at home is extremely easy with L’Oreal Preference and the colour is long lasting and gives me a younger look.

Although the dye itself is really great and delivers in terms of colour, the blue hue is notorious for being the trickiest to maintain and this product also falls into the same category. The blue fades very quickly from hair and it needs additional product to keep the blue tint. Other than this, Loreal delivers in terms of ease and application as always.

There was a hint of blue coming through but maybe if id have used a second box it might have been more intense. As with long hair you really need two boxes. But loved the results.

I dont mind that as its not too over the top colour. If you have long hair I recommend getting two boxes to make sure all the hair is covered. Again I recommend if you have larger hands to get your own gloves as these ones did not fit.

I left it on for 30-35 minutes, washed it out and immediately saw the blue undertones in my hair. After naturally drying, it looks black in normal light but under the sun/flashlight you can definitely see the blue undertones. It looks black but has the blue undertones.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is only the second time I have changed the colour of my hair to blue/ black and I must say that it looks great. My hair feels strong, looks healthy, shinny and is very smooth. I would recommend this.
