Great product, not enough.

Used on previously black box dyed hair and virgin level 3 dark brown hair. Left on for 45 minutes with the result of dark-medium yellow on my virgin hair and medium-light orange on my previously black box dyed ends.
Pro's:
Lightened really well for a single bleach and applied easily for an overall consistent colour. Product was semi-runny and was easy to apply but thick enough to use a tint brush and a bowl without spilling everywhere. Hair was very dry as expected but not as dry as I have encountered previously bleaching my dark hair as I needed at least 2 applications to get this result on my box dyed black hair.
Con's:
Purple conditioner did nothing in terms of colour, didn't really help hydrate the hair as much as I expected. Not enough bleach in a single box for a full head application, I only bleached the underside at the back and the sides of my hair and JUST had enough bleach to finish this section with full saturation.
Because there was not enough product in one box to even do my full head on chin-length hair this had to be given 3 stars, along with the fact that the purple conditioner did nothing at all to combat yellow tones as advertised.
If you are willing to buy multiple boxes or only want to do a small portion of your hair and you would like to colour or tone your hair afterwards to remove the brassy tones this is actually a really great product.

No damage to hair and easy to apply

I was given this product to try free of charge in return for my honest opinion.
I liked the ease of use of the product it was simple to mix and applied well . I think the fact that it lifted my hair well without damage was a great benefit . The two drawbacks I had were that there wasn’t enough in the box for my entire head and I only have a chin length bob . So I could not do my roots two which meant I had to try get a darker root to smudge the top for a cover up for parts that I got a little on the root colour . That aside I felt the overall finish was a little brassy and there was no toner in the pack which is something you need to purchase also so at $28 a box they are getting pretty steep .

Inconsistent colour do not recommend

Used the dye at home and I look like a tiger!
I followed the instructions and left on for 35 minutes.
Called the hotline for advice and they advised I need colour correction. Not what I expected and do not recommend this product. The colour is inconsistent.

Excellent service and excellent products

I used Preference bleach and bought the Preference toner at the same time. I keep my hair very short. The bleach does turn my hair orange but the toner always works to do its job. I called the 1300 number and they gave me excellent advise. You can use the toner after the bleach in the same hair colouring session. Which isn’t in the product information. You have to wash the bleach out and partially dry your hair without the conditioner. Then apply the toner for 5 mins and after washing that out apply the conditioner. I got an excellent result. The ladies on the phone recommended that and it worked beautifully. I recommend these products are used together as I’ve described.

Nice colour!

This colour is super easy to mix and very easy to apply to my hair evenly. The product didn’t burn or irritate my skin and was easy to wash out. The conditioner makes the coloured hair smell very nice and leaves these hair soft and shiny without making the hair look dry and unhealthy. I think I did a good job with spreading the colour around my hair and head and don’t have any visible patches that aren’t in the same colour. The hair colour now after colouring it from natural dark blond is very white blond, no yellow or brown/orange parts.

This L'Oreal hair dye is my new favourite! To start off the shade range the brand offers is impeccable and very versatile to be all inclusive. The package I used was very informative, provided clear instructions and made dying my hair at home a breeze.
My colour payoff was amazing and I have already purchased another box to use.
The colour covered alot of dark spots I was producing from regrowth and greys too. I feel fresh and beautiful with my new hair colour!

Suprisingly good

So I accidentally signed up for this product not paying attention. My hair was too dark for the recommendation however I did it anyway. I can solidly confirm this is one of the best bleach products I have ever used. It mostly certainly has done the least damage to my hair compared to all the other products including at a hair dresser. It would have produced amazing results if my hair was lighter. I would recommend this product to someone interested in doing this.

"Bold Platinum Results"

I recently tested L'ORÉAL Paris Ultra Platinum Bleach, and I have to say, the results were pretty impressive. The bleach lifted my hair to a bright, bold platinum, even though my hair was quite dark to begin with. Application was fairly easy with its creamy, non-drip consistency, making the process less messy. I followed the instructions carefully and found that it didn’t leave my hair as dry as I had expected, which was a pleasant surprise.
That said, it’s definitely strong, so if your hair is already damaged or fine, I’d recommend being cautious. After bleaching, I used a purple shampoo to tone down any brassiness, which really helped achieve a cooler blonde. Overall, I was happy with how it turned out, but taking care of your hair post-bleach is a must to keep it healthy. For anyone wanting to go ultra-light, this is a solid option!

As i have natural dark brown hair, upon using this i came out looking like a calico cat. There was a bit of burning but ive always had a sensitive scalp. I only needed a small about of product so i opted to apply more later in the day if needed but when i went to reapply the chemical reaction caused the product to spill out after taking off the cap. I like the colour my hair turned though i dont know if id get again.

Not enough product

I have used this product twice now. Good overall lift and colour however not enough product in each box. I have had to use 2 boxes each time and I am only bleaching 4 weeks worth of regrowth not a full hair bleach.

A great post-bleach treatment to add shine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is another toner, similar to the "Platinum Ice" acidic toner offered by L'Oreal. This colour has a very subtle lilac sheen, but this is only noticeable if you have hair colour lightened to 8-10. The acidic formula neutralises brassy yellow hair and also the alkalinity of hair after bleaching, which can make it porous. This toner was easy to use - it comes with developer and a good dose of conditioner so it really did make my hair happier after bleaching. My hair is a bit darker, but it was still good at neutralising the warmer tones in my hair and left it feeling very soft.

I followed the instructions carefully, on my dark brown hair it resulted in a red - ish colour. I wasn’t expecting any different result though it shows a much lighter colour result on the chart for dark brown. Waiting time is 30-45 minutes, I waited 30-35.

This lightener/bleach works incredibly well, I could notice it lightening my hair within 10 minutes. What I liked about this product is how fast it lightened the hair and also the purple shampoo it comes with really helped to bring that extra yellow out.

L'Oreal Paris Preference Le Blonding, has allowed me to lighten my dark blonde/light brown hair at home. It allows you to lighten hair up to 9 levels. My hair still feels healthy with less breakage compared to other products I have tried.

Not too bad for home bleach

It streamlines the process of bleaching at home, but still should only be attempted by experienced bleachers...
It's just too easy for the hair to be damaged significantly. I attempted some highlights and they turned out very orange! the purple conditioner provided wasn't strongly pigmented enough to neutralise the orange. Probably a good idea to have some stronger toner on hand for any orangey results
In summary, convenient but still risky.
I would possibly recommend to a friend for something like regrowth on already bleached hair, but not for first time bleachers!

I found the product to be easy to use when following the instructions. The product didn't have a smell like most hair products do. I didn't have to wait to long for it to start working on my hair. I love the colour that I got.

This was the first time using a blonde hair dye. The kit came with everything we need and easy to read instructions. There we no strong smells which using the dye either. I would definitely recommend this product!

Easy to use and lightened my hair incredibly quickly! No redo required - I got to my desired level of blonde in one go. The toning conditioner cooled the colour and softened my hair. Very happy with the results!

Unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience with this product. It caused my healthy hair to become orange and very dry, I followed instructions exactly and even timed. Unfortunately would not recommend.

Easy Peasy

Super easy to apply. Was feeling a cruella deville vibe for halloween and watched a few tutorials in how to do at home balyage. The bleach smelt great and lifted really easy. Absolutely will buy again!

Professional dye at home

Initially I was very sceptical to try this at home but I am must say, I am super impressed by the colour pay off. So subtle and dreamy. Leaves soft shine on my hair and I can't stop moving my fingers.

Gentle, effective and instant results!

Great product for lightening your hair without as many harsh bleach chemicals! The colour change was quick and easy, and my hair felt soft afterwards! I’d say you need two packs if you have long hair.

Didn't take well

The product didn't take to my hair well and the parts that were lightened didn't look amazing. I don't know whether this was due to user error or bad product, but I probably won't get this again.

I did not feel it had the drying effect that usual bleach products leave you with !

Love my bleached hair

Wouldn’t recommend on darker hair

I tried this product on my hair and it went orangey yellow. I left it on for longer and it still didn’t lift. Even with toner.

Effectively lightens but very damaging.

While the product does lighten hair, it is not nearly enough product to effectively lightener the whole head. I have above shoulder hair that isn’t particularly thick and I ended up with very obvious patches where the product didn’t cover the hair properly. I would need two boxes to lighten the whole head. I ended up putting a darker colour on my hair to cover the patches. My hair was also very dry and damaged after using the product. The ends of my hair started snapping and I lost a lot of hair. It was a lot of damage for not much pay off.

Inconsistent colour

I dyed my friends hair with it, and I followed the instructions. It came out really patchy. Part of her hair didn't develop properly, and I lathered it on all over. It came orangey and yellow even though there is an anti yellow conditioner, it did nothing. We had to use toner and dye it again using a different brand. Then it came out better. Would not recommend especially if you have brown hair, do not even bother with it if ur hair is dark or light brown it will just come out patchy like my friends hair did.

Worried it my be a bit harsh . I need not have worried my hair was in better condition after I had used the product. All in all very pleased with the results . Quick and easy to use, no overwhelming smell . a gorgeous shade of blond and left my hair feeling soft and nourished. Don't forget to do the skin test before using.

Nice toner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this on my hair which is blonde - recent balayage with no toner. Have never used a toner at home before but this was very good. Colour change is not as dramatic as the pictures show, however this has definitely removed the yellow tone from the bleached parts of my hair. One box did my long hair easily, super quick to use as only took 5 minutes. Hair feels very soft after - would definitely use again to save a toner refresh visit to the hairdresser.
