How To Use
STEP 1 – PRE-COLOURING: Remember to be colour safe and always do your patch test 48 hours before using this L'Oreal Preference silver hair dye, even if you have already used colouring products before. Please follow the instruction leaflet and read the safety information.
STEP 2 – PREPARATION: Cover your shoulders with a towel and put on the gloves. Open the colouring bottle and pour it entirely into the developer bottle. Close with the applicator tip and shake it to obtain a completely even mixture. Twist off the applicator tip immediately to avoid bursting and damage from the product overflowing.
STEP 3 – APPLY COLOUR: Part your hair into small, even sections and apply the silver grey hair dye. Refer to instructions for development time. Apply conditioner that preserves the silver hair colour and then rinse thoroughly.

Unfortunately my hair looks black!

I occasionally dye my hair red, I like the l'oreal color rista bright red, which lasts ages so this time I thought I'd try out the preference vivids permanent gel in dark purple. I applied as normal and left on for 30 minutes.
My hair looked so glossy like in the ads and felt smooth. Before dying my hair, it was a medium/light brown colour, now it looks more black than dark purple. In the sun there is a slight hint of purple but it mainly looks black. It has made my hair look nice and healthy and did cover the odd grey hairs I had! I'll most probably try one of the reds next time.

Been using Loreal hair dye for years, and when I was sent this I thought I'd be bold and try something out of the ordinary for me. It left a vibrant colour that changes shades depending on the lighting, and left my hair feeling soft with very little change to the texture or my curl pattern (if you're the type who cares about fragrances, this smelled amazing). Be warned that it takes a LONG time to rinse out, as I had to learn the hard way, and use cool water (not hot) to retain the colour and vibrancy for longer.

Vibrant colour that lasts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You have been warned, L'Oréal aren't messing when they say these colours are vivid! I regularly use reds and purples on my dark brown (and quite grey) hair but I didn't appreciate how strong a colour I could achieve with this range. Application and instructions are super easy and the conditioner is super-nourishing. Only downside is the hideous gloves, as anyone with slightly larger hands will know, these plastic bag gloves are not built for us

Easy application with great colour finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product has easy step to step instructions for application. My partner applied the colour to my hair. He did however comment on how the gloves aren't the best. Broke very easy, so had to use some spare gloves to finish the application.
My natural hair colour is dark blonde. I also have greys in my roots. But this colour covered the whole area. I love the colour dark purple, it turned out really good.

My hair was left looking so shiny.
In the past I've found with purple/red toned hair colours that they fade really quickly but this hasn't been the case with this hair colour. My hair has kept the rich colour and vibrance, weeks on.

Great colour

I wanted something abit different so I tried out this dark purple and I am over the moon with the results. It was so easy to apply and didn't have a horrible smell like some other hair dyes. My hair didn't feel damaged or dry after using, it left my hair feeling soft and nourished, I will 100% be using this colour again.

Really easy to follow instructions ( just a little trick to use when using dark colours apply a little Vaseline around your for head and ears helps to not colour your skin ) the colour itself is extremely vibrant long lasting and using the weekly conditioner to keep the colour is fabulous! One box was enough for my should length hair, it covered fgs few grey hair I have and my hair looks lovely and shiny! My only complaint would be my hair felt really dry after.

My hair is very soft and glossy after the dyeing process. It fades gradually which I prefer. I always use l'Oréal for hairdye so I am not really furprise that I love it!

It has a real depth to it and doesn't have any harsh red tones. I've only washed it once so I don't know how well it will fade but I am really happy with how the colour has turned out.
