How To Use
1. Add the colouring cream to the developer and shake well to mix.
2. Apply the mix to your hair, starting from the roots then throughout the lengths and ends. Leave in hair for 30 mins.
3. Rinse your hair until the water runs clear. Use the Gentle pH Purple Shampoo to remove any excess residue.
4. Apply a small amount of the Anti-Brass Purple Mask. Leave in for 3 mins then rinse your hair. Use the mask once a week until your next colour for a lasting anti-brass result (*if the 60ml conditioner is applied after 2 and 4 weeks).

Very dark brown

Because my hair is very long, I purchased 2 more packets to get overall coverage (it’s no biggy).
The package does say it’s non drip, but mine still dropped as I was applying it (could be because I did do my own colouring).
What I love about this product is that it completely covered my greys! It came with a comb-like nozzle as an application process, personally stuck with the original applicator nozzle.
The gloves were provided, but fit tiny hands, so used my own disposable gloves.
I also liked the clear instructions with pictures for direction of use. The clean up afterward was easier than most home box dyes, just steer clear of absorbent surfaces.

Nice colour

I was very excited to dye my hair this colour, I have been wanting to go that little bit darker for so long! Instructions provided were easy to follow and the gloves actually fit nicely without the fear of them coming off. I dyed my hair myself and it was quite easy to do with what was provided. The colour turned out nicely and the shampoo and hair masque smell great. I have medium length hair and one box of dye was more than enough to cover it all. The best thing I found with this hair dye is it doesn’t stain your skin! It was very easy to wipe away without having to try scrub it off.
I will definitely be purchasing this one or even another colour in this same brand again in future.

I’m afraid I just ‘blue’ myself

My natural hair is around a level 2 dark brown and while I’ve been letting my silver streaks shine with semi-permanent dyes lately, I was keen to give the Cool Créme Permanent in Ultra Ash Dark Brown a try.
I loved the comb applicator for my short bobbed hair. However I did manage to miss a patch of grey roots near my temple as a result of the runnier formula and how the applicator dispenses the product. It also got into some far flung places around my bathroom.
I was initially prepared to have my hair a level lighter than my natural shade but the dye processed to almost a black, with the ash tone registering as more of a blue-black for the first week and a half. My hair is only looking more ash brown about three weeks later.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Something different

Firstly, the gloves are fairly small, I don’t have overly big hands but I found them tight.
The dye comes with an applicator comb that can be screwed onto the bottle, I like this idea but it didn’t really work that well, so I just used the normal nozzle instead.
The dye itself is quite runny compared to other brands I use and had a fairly strong smell.
The end colour is almost black in my hair.
The shampoo and conditioner are nice to use, I had enough shampoo for 2 washes.
Overall I would prefer to stick with my current brand of dye.

Beautiful, perfect colour.

I got to try out the L’Oréal Paris Excellence Cool Créme Permanent Hair Colour Ultra Ash Dark Brown on my mum. I coloured it for her, and it was so easy to use. It does come with a comb applicator but I just used the nozzle it came with, I think that would be great for someone dying their own hair.
It covered her greys really well. It provided an even overall colour. The colour I thought was very true to its description on the box. The product took out any brass that was in the hair and resulted in an very cool dark brown with no hint of red. It actually looks like it’s taken it back to her natural hair colour. Her hair felt really smooth and looked shiny after washing out and using the shampoo and mask provided. Overall she’s so happy with the result, she’s like a new woman.

I was excited to try this as I have never tried a colour like this using a purple shampoo.
Instructions were to the point and easy to follow.
Gloves and packaging were of good quality.
Hair dye was easy to mix and apply to hair, I used both nozzles included.
I had enough dye to ensure my hair was well covered and I have medium to long hair.
The smell was a little strong however an open window fixed that.
After washing and drying I had full grey coverage and a lovely shine on my newly coloured hair.

ashy, non drying & grey to cover greys

i haven’t used a permanent dye in awhile. the smell of this is quite strong & a little stingy if hair gets close to your eyes. my hair was probably 2 shades lighter & more of a chocolate brown with random greys. the dye did a great job of covering them & toned the brassiness. i wouldn’t say my hair is completely ashy now it does reflect a teeny bit of reddish tones in the sun. the conditioner gives hydration & didn’t make my hair dry/knotty like some do. i’ll continue to use the toning conditioner over the next few weeks & give an update. also gloves in the box are great. they actually fit properly & don’t slide off, covering your wrists too. all in all good for a permanent dye although use plenty of vaseline around the hairline & neck it does strongly stain. i couldn’t get a random splotch off my leg for a few days.

Professional looking colour at home

This hair colour was very easy to use. It covered grey hairs very well. It provided an even overall colour. The colour I thought was very true to its description on the box. Revived, glossy and healthy!

For someone who has always been blonde and constantly fearful of the hair change to brown, worried about the dull, lacking shine of dark hair, boy was I wrong!

Having not used a standard box dye for some time, I was very impressed with this product. The colour had a true cool undertone which can be difficult to find in brown box dyes, and the included toning mask is fantastic. My hair felt noticeably softer and smoother after use than it does after my regular dye, and the colour has not started to fade or turn brassy since colouring.

This L’Oréal hair colour in ultra ash dark brown was impressive. It’s the first product I’ve found thats actually focused on not only providing a hair colour that looks fantastic, provides 100% grey coverage but also cares for your scalp and hair. The colouring cream along with the purple shampoo and purple mask kept my hair colour long lasting and fresh looking.

SHINY HAIR, COVERS GREYS!

I have dark brown hair, and grey hair on my crown (thank you stress!) I used this at home, fairly easy to use and apply. It worked well, covered all my wriggly grey hair and gave my hair a shiny new colour. The effect wasn't dramatic, as I have dark hair, but this was a boon as I'm not a professional, so any mistakes were well hidden.

Didn't quite make sense

Ok so it wasn't harsh on my hair and it had a neat changeable applicator tip, but the texture of the dye was very then and runny causing it to be a very messy experience.
Why it come with a anti brass hair treatment is beyond me it seems far to dark of a dye to be needed but I'm definitely no pro with anything beauty

Strong Smell but Covers Well

This product has a very strong chemical smell and is tough on the hair. I definitely recommend wearing the gloves as it stains hands easily. It does covers the hair well and provides a good overall colour. If you have hair longer then your shoulders though you will need at least 2 packets if doing an all over colour.

Pleasant smelling but stained skin

Im pleased with the appearance of the packaging and the application process is very nice and easy with a gentle fragrance, it covered almost all greys but did leave some visible. Only problem I had was that it stained my skin , and whereas other dyes will wash off easily this one seems to be a bit more challenging

Ultra dark ash brown permanent hair colour has put a new vibe on my head. It’s cool, refreshing and just a little bit different without being wild about it. Perfect grey coverage

Perfect grey coverage results this hair colour was very easy to use and was a good non drip créme. Comes with a root comb which is perfect for root touch ups.
I found the one box went along way most other brands i require 2 boxes i was soo suprised when the one box covered my whole head of hair.

Smells beautiful and easy application.

The formula smells amazing once washed, beautiful and fresh.
The formula is a great texture to apply, easy to cover all hair. It covers all greys with ease and made my hair so shiny and reflective.
It was darker than I expected, but I’m still happy with how it turned out.

This was easy to use instructions were clear. I left the product on for 30mins, used the colour shampoo and followed up with the anti brass mask for 5 mins then rinsed. I'm happy with the colour. It looks brilliant and my hair feels soft after dying. A really good product.

good coverage

Easy to use applicator helped get it all over the hair. Great grey coverage. Hair really shining and soft and not too chemically smelly like other dyes. Left it on a bit too long and got darker than I hoped and it is more black shade that ultra dark brown.

This box set was super easy to use at home. Instructions were clear. The colour turned out as it was noted on the box so that was amazing. I’ve always been fond of the L’Oréal range of dyes as their quality is superior and the colour is always on point.

loving this hair colour i went from a blonde to a ash dark brown i can see the ash through my hair in the sun and its lovely i have long hair and there was enough hair colour to completely cover my whole hair great product will definetly use again

L’Oréal Paris Hair Dye Review!

The dye was easy to apply, I felt no irritation on my scalp and there were no brassy undertones. Using the aftercare shampoo made my hair feel nice and soft and the dye didn’t have a harsh smell at all. I would definitely recommend this product!

Absolutely wonderful results

Very happy with this product. I mainly dyed my roots to mid roots and I was extremely happy with how it turned out!! My hair was so soft after wards which I’ve never been able to get from box dye before. Looks like I just walked out of a salon!

Great dark ashy brown

I was so impressed with this hair dye. I’ve used many different brands over the years and this is up there with one of the best. A super easy application, love the fact that it comes with purple shampoo and mask to keep those ashy tones

Poor cover

It's easy to apply, although you really should be in a ventilated room as the smell is very irritating.
However, the result is really not good. I wanted to cover an old hair colour and the result is absolutely not homogeneous at all.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Perfect colouring

I was colouring over my previous pink hair and it coloured over the pink with ease and it looks super natural. Super pleased with the results and I love that the price point is good, it doesn't smell too strong and its permanent.

I have used L’Oréal Paris before but not in this exact colour. So glad I tried it! I love the colour and coverage - its definitely a dark ash and my hair is super shiny. I feel like it will last a while too.

This is a great colour for home hair colouring. It has ingredients that does not dry out my hair. It is quite nourishing. It is also really easy to use and follow the instructions.

As someone with thicker hair I would recommend having 2 lots are this didn’t quite cover all of my hair.
But it did add a beautiful shine and made my hair super soft!

Easy application and plenty of product. Left it to set for 15 minutes, washed it out and dyed perfectly. I was a light brown and now dark ash brown. Love it.
