Excellence Cool Crème Permanent Hair Colour - 6.11 Ultra Ash Dark Blonde

I have naturally light ash brown/dark blonde and wanted to cover the few greys I have. After using this, my hair looks 'chocolate' light brown - I literally want to cry as I absolutely hate reddish/warm tones and have preserved my hair free of colour for 30+ years just to now destroy it with this. I'm absolutely gutted and will now have to go and get it professionally repaired. The name misrepresents the actual result.

After using shampoo the hair doesn’t smell like colourant (and this hair dye does have a strong smell). The colour is nice but it came out darker than shown on the box. The anti brassiness mask is not suitable for grey hair so I’m always paranoid my hair will turn purple when using it. One box for enough for shoulder length hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product, left my hair feeling soft and well conditioned, great natural looking multi tonal colour, with good grey coverage. No harsh smells. The only thing that I felt could be improved upon is the bottle of colour that you can’t reseal. So if you were only doing roots the colour will dry out before you use it again so would be better if it had a lid you could replace.

I’ve struggled for long to get rid of brassiness. My natural colour is dark blonde and really struggle as my hair throws red. I have more luck with semi permanents than permanents.

I really love this product. At last I’m not red. I love the purple mask that helps to get rid of the red and I’m closer to my natural colour.

I will continue to buy this product.

One box was enough to cover my medium length hair and the outcome was gorgeous! My hair was shiny and so soft and suited my skin tone so well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really great hair colour. Simple to use as always, easy to mix, goes on well and easily. I have a lot of stubborn to colour grey so tend to leave it slightly longer before I wash off. It coloured my greys well and washed off easily. There’s no horrid smell that sometimes comes with home colours and after conditioning my hair felt nice and soft .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really pleased I got to try this shade, it refreshed my colour and took down the brassy tones leaving it much more ashy and natural. All of my greys were covered and blended nicely with the rest of my hair. The purple conditioner also helped to prolong the ashy tone. Eventually the brassy tones did come back after a month or so.

The only reason I decided to try was because of my hairdresser always add matt, so I thought to give it a go. I can say confidently this is an item that I love now, and perfect match for the colour on the box.

Really disappointed. Greys haven’t been covered well, either still grey or pale blonde. The dye has given quite a red undertone which I was trying to avoid. It’s a lot lighter than I was hoping for too - much lighter than as advertised. Hair feels beautifully soft immediately after though

This is literally meant to be ash dark blonde and neutralise brassy tones ... nope !y hair now has more brassy / orange / gold tones than before ... absolutely horrible! I am ash blonde naturally and I wanted to go slightly darker , that didn’t work either , in fact I’m lighter ...

I do swear by Excellence hair dye though if I'm not using professional products. It always leaves my hair soft and manageable with good results.

I thought this would be perfect being a cool ash blonde. However it was super brassy - almost ginger looking. Wouldn’t use again- as on top of being a bad colour the grey coverage wasn’t good either
