Can't wash it out!

I have been using this product for the past few years and loved it till now. It's been a week now that I've experienced this and have been unable to wash out the product. The below image is to show that I washed my hair 3 hours ago, and for the second time this week I have been unable to remove the product. Having washed my hair with 3 good and intense shampoos this is still stuck to my hair to the point that running my fingers through the hair the fingers are marked by the sprayed colour. I have sticky hair and don't know what to do. If it continues I'll have no other option but to shave my head! Wondering if I got a bad batch of spray!

Serious labelling and availability issues

My regular colour was Dark Blonde.
Dark Blonde no longer available in stores.
L’Oreal informed Dark Blonde has been renamed Beige.
Beige ordered from Amazon, they supplied Light Brown (returned for refund).
Ordered Beige from Chemist Warehouse they also provided Light Brown.
L’Oreal now say Beige has been replaced by Light Brown.
L’Oreal website lists the following colours including Beige but not Light Brown which is available in stores.

Excellent for covering grey

I really love this product and use it all the time. It has really good grey coverage that will last until your next wash. When using it I cover my face with a clear face shield just to prevent getting any in my eyes and spray it about 30cms away using a continuous spray. If I get any on my skin it washes off easily with soapy water. If I spray too heavily in one area I just rub it with a tissue to spread it out evenly. There is a good selection of colours to choose from and a can lasts me a good month. It is also easy to carry around in your bag for quick touch-ups. Couldn't live without it now. Great for inbetween dying. Love it!!!

Faulty pump ruined my expensive pjs

I have been using this product for a while, in between having permanent tints at the hairdressers. I haven’t had issues until now, other than the spray ends up all over my pillow at night. This morning I opened a new bottle and the pump was faulty and product sprayed all over the place - my bathroom sink, vanity doors, face and my Peter Alexander silk pjs. I had placed a hand towel over my shoulder as usual but because the spray/pump was faulty it went absolutely in every direction. I am really upset that it got on pjs (down the bottom - not even up near my shoulders, as they were expensive pjs and the spray won’t come out and they are ruined.

Not suitable for around the face

I bought this spray because I could no longer find the Magic Retouch Brush, and needed to touch up my greys around my temples and hairline. I used this product, followed instructions and ended up with splotches of dye on my face, bathroom mirror and sink. I’ve tried two more times and there is always an overshoot of product onto my face and it looks like I have a coloured scalp. Using a spray for those areas is just too much. Bring back the little mascara wand/brush which is easier to use on a few greys around the hairline. I imagine if you need to cover large areas that aren’t near the face, its probably okay.

Greasy residue that hasn’t washed out for weeks

I bought this a few weeks ago and used it twice. I noticed that my hair had a greasy feeling of residue in the area of application (along my part line) but I didn’t worry too much about it. I’ve not used the product for two weeks, washed my hair every other day, but my hair still has that feeling of greasy residue despite the colour washing out. I’m hoping that the residue will wash out soon as it feels as awful as it looks. Never again will I use this product.

I waited weeks for a local store near me to restock the 'Magic Root Touch-Up' in 'Blonde for those with Dark Regrowth' by L'Oreal...
I bought it this morning and my goodness, what an absolute waste of money!
First of all, it comes out as banana yellow, not blonde and then turns positivley transparent as soon as it hits your hair! Also smells bad and leaves residue despite the label. Not happy.

Ideal solution for Mums with young children who have forgotten what the inside of a hair salon looks like & dye their hair at home. I found the Magic Retouch was perfect for covering regrowth & pesky grey hairs & to lengthen times in between dye jobs. The light brown was a good colour match for my hair, the nozzle was easier to apply at the roots on the scalp a little trickier near the hair line on your face without getting overspray - used a comb to try & cause a barrier which worked quite well. There was no lingering chemical smell & the slim lightweight container was quick & easy to use. I would use again & recommend to friends.

For several years I've wished for a product like this, one I could simply spray on and go out feeling confident no one could see the dreaded grey stripe. Magic Retouch is perfect for those times when you receive an unexpected invitation but don't have time to colour your hair before you go out or for those days when surprise visitors call to say they are minutes away. The colour blended really well and one friend actually thought I'd just coloured my hair! Thank you for asking me to trial Magic Retouch, I'm quite grey underneath but not ready to go completely grey and the re-growth can be very frustrating. I will definitely keep using it and tell others about it.

Wow! I loved this product! In the past for quick touch ups, I have used a crayon to mask those pesky grey hairs and ended up with the product smeared on my face from trying to cover near the hair line. Not any more! I loved the applicator for this product. Just sprayed it on and it gave a nice even coverage. No messy excess product and it covered my greys perfectly. The dark brown was a perfect match for my hair colour. I will be buying this again as it's great for a quick cover up in between colouring my hair. Those greys just seem to appear so quickly. Lasted until I washed my hair after a couple of days!\n

I really wanted to try this product after seeing it advertised on social media. I wanted a quick and easy solution to cover my hair regrowth that was also affordable. It was a bit tricky using it at first as it came out unevenly and tend to splatter a bit, but once you applied the correct pressure to the nozzle it was easier to use. It does stain your skin a bit so you have to be careful. I found it provided great coverage for my regrowth and blended well with my hair colour. After it dried, the colour didn't transfer to clothing/bed sheets so you can leave it on for a few days until you wash it off.\n

I brought this when I was desperate to cover my dark roots. I wanted to blend them with my highlighted hair, but I was a bit disappointed with the result. I found that it didn't do the best job. Even after applying the product evenly I found that it didn't provide adequate coverage, even when I applied more layers it still didn't disguise the dark roots. Perhaps it would work better in grey hair? I also found that it made my hair matte where I sprayed it, which also wasn't a good look. I don't know who to recommend this product to, as I wasn't impressed with it, perhaps someone with darker hair?

It won't come off

I have washed my hair 6 times in the last hour. My hair is greasy and disgusting and full of product. I bought this for the first time yesterday for a big interview and that interview is in a few hours and I don't know what to do.
I am really upset . I do not recommend, will never buy again and will throw my brand new spray immediately in the trash.

Made my hair look worse than the roots

I bought this to touch up my caramel coloured hair & the product " medium to dark blonde" jasy roots darker than they already were..pretty hard going considering I'm naturally a brunette. What an utter waste of money.
How this comes under blonde I don't know. It's a mid Brown colour. As I've opened the seal I'm unable to get a refund for a totally useless product.

I think this product definitely filled out some empty space on the shop shelf. I think it's a great idea for between salon visits or at home colouring. I'm already a fan of Loreal foam hair dye - which I find so easy to use and mess free compare to the normal hair dyes. This product is simple to use, great end so it doesn't go anywhere. It matched my hair colour and most importantly it left no stains. I will definitely buy it and keep in my bathroom cabinet for when I can't afford the salon visit and between the visits or can't be bother with permanent colouring. Good idea!!

The product design put me of to start with as I thought the bright colour looked cheap - but it made it easy to spot in store. The product worked well for me, covering greys and didn't look out of place by not exactly matching some colour streaks in my hair - it blended fine. There was a slight hairspray type feel to my hair for the time it was in there but nothing to bad. It washed out easily. The nozzle was a little hard to get a light spray out of and if you don't push hard enough small droplets land on your face and vanity - but they wipe straight off. I will definetly buy again. Perfect for that last minute decision to head out with friends but notice you are overdue for a colour - hides the greys in a spray.

I purchased this to try for events or when I had something on to attend in between salon visits to get my roots coloured. I have dark brown hair and white regrowth, it stands out as it’s right down the part of my hair. I found the cool dark brown matched really well and was easy to apply and covered most of the hairs. The only downfall for me was I felt that it left a gritty/tacky feel to the roots and when I’ve used it I’ve wanted to wash it out as soon as possible. Other then that I would highly recommend for us in between salon visits or colouring your hair at home.

This was surprisingly effective. I probably tried a shade darker than I should have, so I'd recommend going a shade lighter than you think you need for your first use. I initially found the nozzle a touch hard to manage - difficult to get just the right pressure so that I got enough product but not too much - but once this minor hurdle was cleared, this was a great product. It really does provide effective coverage of regrowth/roots; it didn't come off on anything and it lasted all day. I did find that a little which got on to my scalp (as a result of my nozzle issue) lasted through two washes, but that's not really a problem. Overall, this was really good and I'd definitely recommend it for short term touch ups.\n

so many things to say about loreal Paris magic retouch (brown) so first off i have light blond hair which i had dyed brown and used this product to touch up where i had regrowth well it does cover the regrowth but so many things wrong like how my hair gets sticky and also leaves it greasy it builds up on my scalp and my hands are covered and i had to use some bicarb to help get some of the colour off my hands but there is still some leftovers its not comfortable on my head left some stains on my sheets i wouldn't buy this product because its not great and also expensive but it is very easy to use and lasts a while that's about all that is positive about this product. i do not recommend loreal Paris magic root touch up.

A useful product for an easy, quick solution to covering grey hairs at short notice! I would definitely use again for those times when I need coverage for grey hair but can't get to the hairdresser yet. It gave good colour coverage and was natural looking which is important to me, however next time I would choose a shade lighter than the one I selected. I liked the look and size of the packaging however I found the nozzle spray a bit tricky to use for hair around my face so would prefer a different method of application. Overall, a good product that does the job!\n

Covers roots, but colour transfers.

I think the colour quality of this spray is good, thick and natural looking.
I was however, disappointed that I usually get overspray, which is nearly impossible not to do with the side of face area.
When you are using dark colours, the overspray is very noticeable and annoying having to clean up the mess made.
I've also noticed some colour transfer to my hands if I happen to touch the areas I have sprayed, even up to a day later.
On the plus side, this colour coverage lasted me for 3-4 days, which I think is amazing.
I would love to see L'oreal find a way to make the spray more adjustable for different areas or come up with a way to address the overspray. Perhaps it can be combined with a mascara wand type of retouch product.

Doesn’t work, made my hair yellow ( used the blonde colour) And left a nasty straw like residue on my hair. Wish I could return and get my $$ back. Please don’t bother with this product.

I tried this product on a whim, between hairdresser visits, and I am soo glad that I did. After missing a hair appointment due to work commitments, i was desperate to cover the part line that had a good inch of regrowth. This product did this, and I was able to go out in public without wearing a hat.\nit takes a little while to dry, and can stain your skin if you don't wipe it off fast. It can feel a little dry on your hair if you use too much. If you use lightly and where it is most needed, this is a fantastic and easy to use product.\n

This is a good option for covering up grey roots in between dying. It doesn't budge all day, however it "will" transfer if you rub your fingers or nails on it. The spray is a fine mist so it will stain clothes if you aren't careful. I usually wrap a towel around my shoulders and upper half before spraying it. And you will likely need to clean up staining around your forehead and sometimes a few flecks of the spray on the face, with a tissues/cotton pad dipped in water. Great for occasional use, but I'd like t see it be "less messy".

Did not like this product at all.

This product claims to cover greys and dry quickly - it does neither of those things. My grey hairs are sparse, but it did not cover anything at all; I could still see them coming through and the blend was not seamless at all. I sprayed my greys at around 7:30am this morning; it's now 10:29am and every time I touch my hair it keeps coming off on my fingers.

Great product

L'Oréal Paris Magic Retouch Instant Root Concealer Spray Is a must have for me. I suffer from Graves’ disease so my hair turns grey super fast. With this between dying my hair I can conceal my grey roots with no problem. This doesn’t get into my clothes or bleed in to my pillow. I’m soo glad I found this because this has been a life changer for me. Anyone with grey hair should have this with them. Especially when you are going out and suddenly see a patch of grey hair this can effectively cover it up within seconds. Love this

I have natural blonde hair that I've dyed black every few weeks for years. Due to the contrast of my regrowth to the rest of my hair, it's difficult to maintain my roots in an affordable way.\n\nDying my hair at least once a month was becoming damaging, tiring and expensive.\n\nI'm not going to lie, when I heard that this product existed I rushed to the store quicker than you can say L'Oreal.\n\nI use this almost daily, to instantly give my hair a fresh look. It does not smudge and stays put until I wash my hair! It has a nice light fragrance that is not too overpowering. It is easy to work with, and blends like a dream.\n\nIf you have trouble with grey hairs, fast growing regrowth or just want a boost of fresh colour, id definitely recommend this product! \n\n

What a letdown

I was excited to try this product, but was very disappointed with the results. First spray I ended up with a very big and very obvious dark circle which I had to clean off which was messy. after that I mainly managed lighter sprays but the colour difference between my brown hair and the brown spray was really obvious.
This would suit extremely dark brown to almost black hair, not mid or lighter browns.
Also wouldn’t recommend having light coloured pillow cases as it left some discolouration.
No, I do not recommend this product.

CAUTION: Very Messy!!!

I was so excited to try this product only discover it is extremely messy and gets all over your hands when you touch your hair. The advert says that it drys quickly and doesn't get on your hands - it gets all over your hands and does not dry completely at all.

Can't wash it out!

TikTok made me buy it because I thought this would be a great way to find out if red hair would suit me. First, it's probably great for roots only, but it leaves your hair feeling very dry and stiff.
I washed it out in less than 24 hours. That was 3 days ago. I am still ginger.
I've washed my hair 8 times since, and no amount of oils, shampoos or body wash has been able to get it out of my hair. The best part is that it washed out of my ends but stayed in my roots so now I'm half blonde half ginger. I've seen many people complain online and apparently, the only thing that gets it out is dish soap. Considering I don't want my already dry hair to fall off I just have to accept my new half ginger identity now. I'm supposed to start a new job in 3 days. Don't buy this. Save yourself.

Love love this product. I have been waiting for an easy to use product that extends the life of my colour and this is it. So easy to use, the aerosol spray can delivers just the correct amount of product and it covers my grey roots beautifully. My hair grows really fast so this product is a godsend. This matched my own hair colour beautifully and made no mess, a great bonus. This is a magic way to disguise grey roots when in between salon visits, I can't live without it and highly recommend it

Oh how did I live without you??? What a fabulous easy to use and just plain sensible product.\nI am ageing and so is my hair, this is reflected in my every 5 week, very expensive trips to my Hairdresser to get rid of those GREYS!\nI'm good for 2 weeks after my hairdresser visit and then those sneaky greys start to make an appearance. I've tried parting my hair in different ways, hair powder touch ups and hair mascara with varying levels of success. What I love most about this product is how quick and easy this is to use. A really nice fine nozzle gets the product where it needs to be and can be done in seconds with no mess.\nA great size for travel - who needs to stress about greys while travelling the world. I want to be able to look fab anytime anywhere and this product is now a staple for me.\n

I have dark brown hair with random greys throughout, so when they start to grow out they're very noticeable. I was sceptical that this product could really be as effective as advertised, but I was pleasantly surprised and thrilled with how quick and easy L'Oreal Magic Retouch is to use and how well it blended with my hair colour. It only took a short while to find the greys and give them a quick spray and they were gone. The only faults I found with it is that it feels quite cool as it goes on and has a light chemical scent, which I could have done without. But it dries very quickly and leaves hair soft to touch. I have white bedding and was worried it might rub off onto that, but it didn't at all. I'll definitely keep some of this on hand for the future in between dye jobs to touch up. Highly recommend :)

Such a great product, I wish I knew about this earlier. It is better than the colour regrowth stick I have used in the past. \nThe colour of the L'Oréal Retouch Spray blends in so well and completely covers all my regrowth.\n\nPros\n+ affordable\n+ easy to use\n+ naturally covers regrowth\n\nCons\n- The spray is a little tricky to use especially spraying near the forehead area. Some of the product end up on my forehead but it can be easily removed with some water and tissue. \n

My new favourite product! Simple, effective and you only need a small amount to do the job. I hate hate hate having to touch up my grey roots every couple of weeks. This is the perfect solution for extending that process. The colour blends well (brown) and it stays put for in between washes. The only negative would be 'fall out'. Start getting around the hairline and it can get a little messy with 'spots' appearing on your face from the aerosol. Solution - apply it pre-makeup.

L'Oreal Magic Touch worked well to hide my greys. The light brown colour blended in very well with my hair colour and will enable me to delay doing a full re-colour. I think it will be a handy product to use between colourings. With a few more uses I think I will get better at applying it too, you only need a small spray as too much will stain your skin! It washes out easily with shampoo but does not come off on your clothes or pillow. Great product for emergency touch ups!\n
