Préférence Preference Permanent Hair Colour - 7.23 Dark Rose Gold

On the 20th of December I decided to dye my hair with L'Oreal Paris' 7.23 Dark Rose Gold. My hair is blonde so the product took perfectly and was an amazing colour. I loved it. However, after I washed my hair the first time with Shampoo and Conditioner, the product began to fade. I expected a fade like you do with every colour when you first dye it. After about six washes on the hair, the dark rose gold colour that I loved was completely gone, leaving me with my original blonde! This product is good if you want a semi-permanent hair colour but for those like me who wanted to use it as a permanent, not recommended.

Not sure why the reviews for this colour are so bad. I had very dark brown hair, and did a bleach bath , not to my roots, a careful planned one, and then washed it out. I used this right after, and kept it in for the WHOLE recommended time. This is important. If you leave it in for less you will go pink, or maybe purple (this happened to me in the past with this product because I freaked out). I washed it out after 30 min and had dark rose gold hair. In the sunshine then was a few tiny strands that were more pink but boo hoo to them because the rest was perfect. It got rid of the brassiness of my bleached hair and some bits were almost white at the ends- a nice surprise. It really toned my hair and I’ll see how it goes after many washes but I’m happy with the result.

I have dark blonde/light brown hair with some grey (less than 5%), and I really like this colour. I have used the Vienna previously, then this dark rose gold twice in a row because I like the red/rose highlights it gives. The rose fades for me relatively fast, but most colours fade quickly on me I think because I have very fine porous hair (except blue/green, which never leaves). I like that this colour really unifies my hair well, as I previously have a balayage and it blends the root, mid and ends really well.

I have used Loreal hair products in the past and have been very happy with the overall colour and coverage, but this product was very disappointing, i have dark blond hair but the colour ended up washed out pink and a little uneven, i am now going to have to buy another colour and redo all within 24hrs of using this product, waste of time and most of all money

Bought this product as I wanted a change and had been considering this shade for a while, my hair was previously bleached and the growth was too much to keep on top of. I am sadly very disappointed with the outcome, my hair is extremely patchy in a variety of purple and pink hues and in no way a dark shade like advertised on the packaging. I will not buy this shade again or recommending it. Now I have to consider how to fix this mess!!

I bought this today to do my lockdown colour and my entire head of heir had turned purple! This needs to be taken off the shelves ASAP! I can’t image how I’m going to fix this and how much it will cost

I absolutely love this colour! My hair was previously dyed 7.3 golden blonde with nearly 2cm of regrowth. I'm 99% grey, so I left it on for 45 minutes, and it turned out exactly as it looks on the box. I also like that it doesn't stain the skin like some other brands do. I personally prefer the thick liquid consistency but it can drip if you're not careful. If you prefer a thicker product, I'd suggest looking at the excellence creme range.

I have been colouring my hair for 40 years. I know what I'm doing. My hair was medium ash blonde and I wanted to warm it up, hence why I selected this shade. I followed the directions to the letter, used two packs as my hair is long and thick. I had 3 cms of grey regrowth. I now have light purple regrowth and brassy tones everywhere else. I've now wasted the cost of two packs of this revolting colour and hours of my time to try and fix this mess. To say I'm disappointed would be a huge understatement.
