Magic Retouch Permanent Root Touch Up Dye Kit - 2 Black

L'Oreal Paris Magic Retouch Touch Up Kit lived up to what it promises. The process of activating the colour and applying the mixture to the hair was easy to administer. The kit contained all the equipments required. The mixture was pleasantly scented and applied evenly with the brush applicator. The colour developed within the time suggested and completely covered the greys. The colour did not fade - I have not needed another touch up in 2 weeks now.

I loved the application brush which was provided which was optional to use or apply as normal with the bottle.
I preferred the brush to do the little hairs around my forhead and sides.
The coverage is pretty good and there was a decent amount of dye to do all the roots front to back.
Only thing was the ammonia smell. Was hoping it wasnt strong and maybe a different scent could be added.
Overall an excellent product which i would consider buying.

I first reacted to the extra brush that's included as it is definitely something I've needed in hair dye kits to help with the application. I first used the bottle squirter and the mixture is a little too runny for my liking however it was just for roots so it didn't make too much of a mess. It did however run down to my forehead leaving a black stain which was easily washed off in the shower. I attempted to use the brush next and it was fantastic! It spread slowly and evenly and I could see it covered each hair very well. It didn't run down my forehead this time as it comes out at a nice pace. The coverage was great. I'm starting to grow more greys and this really did cover well and the colour wasn't too black. Alot of black dyes are too dark that it appears Goth and I have natural black asian hair which also grows slow if I've dyed my hair blonde!

I used this 2 days after receiving it as my hairline needed dying. Instructions say 10 minutes developing time and surprisingly it really did take 10 minutes. I liked that the colour (2) was liquid instead of a cream which most hair colouring is. It was tiny and the developing bottle (1) was skinnier. It was alright though as I was only going to do the front hairline. Though I was greatly surprised. This tiny little bottle went such a long way that I was able to do my whole scalp. Waited the 10 minutes and washed my hair as normal. The results were fantastic. It is a bit pricey to use all the time and I will continue to mix half of the normal sized boxes at a time to use twice but now I will have one of these retouch boxes on hand for those emergency times when I need it done in a hurry. I was quite impressed, very happy with the experience and results.

I am really happy with this product for a quick 10 minutes touch up to cover my grey roots. The instructions was clear and easy to follow. There was an option to use the soft brush cap or precision cap. I used the soft brush cap which made it easy to apply the hair dye evenly. After 10 minutes as per instructions, I washed my hair. I was impressed that my greys were completely covered and that it will last for 4 weeks.

Provides good coverage of grey hair, but found the soft brush applicator difficult to use - better result using the bottle applicator. Would have liked a colour lock conditioner to be provided like the complete loreal hair colour packs as with even using my normal conditioner, felt my hair was dry afterwards. The colour did stain my skin a little more than other products, but it also covered the roots and grey well.

I normally have natural black hair and will dye it every few months when I start seeing grey hair! It can get expensive dying it on a regular basis. This magic retouch kit is just want I am after to touch up my hairline where the grey hair tends to show up first! It was easy to apply with the instructions very clear and simple to follow. I have only recently applied it so keen to see how long the colour lasts for.

I bought yesterday from chemist shop. cost is expensive but quantity is very less. When I read instructions they say mixed together use all . Don’t keep for next time. If I wAnt to use little .so I have to throw . Other things comb is comfortable. How can use without utensils it’s not easy . We have to use utensils and need more than 10 minutes. I am very surprised whatever instructions.

My hair colour times are getting shorter and shorter. Using the L’Oréal touch up made it easier with my busy lifestyle to just ‘touch up’ my greys! I liked using the applicator brush as it covered more area and I had finished in about 5 mins. I didn’t have to do my whole hair just the front. It covered up all my greys and I only had to wait 10mins before shampoo and conditioner.

I was pleasantly surprised how easy and quick the application was. I must admit I was a bit skeptical at first but it truly was a great way to touch up the roots in between colours. The coverage was great better than I expected. I was also very happy with the colour as it matched my hair colour perfectly. I will definitely be
buying the kit to use again.

It was very easy, fast and convenient to touch up those annoying grey roots. The precision tip was great for parting the hair and applying the dye and the soft brush tip was great for brushing the dye into the hair. I ended up using both tips interchangeably. There was ample dye to cover my roots. The root coverage was mediocre for me. I have naturally soft black hair and the colour was a great match for me but it didn't quite dye the white hairs for me despite leaving it on for recommended time. It did take the "edge" off the whiteness so it wasn't as noticeable but it wasn't full coverage. It's hard to tell on black hair because when the dye is applied, it looks like it is fully dyed but it's not until you wash and blow dry it that you notice. Perhaps another application would have done the trick but like most dyes, unfortunately you can't keep the remaining dye for next time. Wish there was an option for dyeing smaller amounts.

Admittedly I can only comment on application and 1st thoughts at this stage as haven’t had it in long enough to feedback re: how long lasting it is but hoping I’ll be pleased with the results. The application is quick and easy to do anD I like not having to wait too long for the magic to happen!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Strong chemical smell that lingers in hair. I know the colour is black but it was a very harsh black. Makes hair very dry and not easy to manage like usual hair colours. Very disappointed, make sure you cover clothing and bedding as it stains things very easily even when was out of hair it left marks on pillowscases. Was awful to use 😕

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good product when you may be going out and want to retouch noticeable greys. It’s very simple you mix the developer and colour together in the bottle and apply to the roots. The comb applicator is a really nice touch and helps spread the colour evenly however it is not enough to touch up all the greys on your on your head.

This is a great idea, i liked that it was very easy to use and it was a small bottle. It was very easy to use without any wastage to do only a root touch up. The coverage was great and the color is very nature. The time it took to do the touch up was great, very easy and would definitely purchase for future touch ups.

Love this product, so much easier and better for my hair to just do the roots. I coloured my hair before work today as I'm off out tonight, can't do that with other hair colours as they always leave you with colour on your skin around the hairline, so needs a 2nd wash to remove that - not so with this product!

LOreal Paris Magic Retouch Permanent Root Touch Up Dye Kit was so fast and easy to use. The handy applicator made it so simple to apply and there was no drips. You honestly didn't even need the gloves and the results were great. Honestly so much faster and easier than using a full hair dye. I highly recommend.

The application process is simple and easy than the normal one I used. It is quicker than I expect .

The root coverage result is fantastic and it cover all the root area and colour is natural and the most important thing is that it is easy and quicker to use and I don't have to spend so much time for this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really looking forward to this one as I've used the sprays a lot and thought it was similar but like a marker pen. However, it's not easy and quick to apply, it's actually more like a small bottle of hair dye with a comb applicator. It's not a quick apply and go, you have to put it on wait wash and dry.

It covered my greys in areas where most other dyes don't and I am extremely happy that this worked.
I will continue to be using such thing as it makes it all go away and I don't have to worry about them pesky greys showing.
The days of growing old and being able to cover the greys is an absolute god send.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the spray from the same range to cover my roots and it is a very good product. This root dye is the next step. It is only a small bottle as it's just for roots so there's no waste, it is easy to use and apply. There is a brush and the normal applicator, and both are good. The dye went on well.

The whole process was so easy and simple. It almost felt like combing my hair and the dye application process was complete. Waited for 10 minutes and shampooed as usual. No mess, no stains, no long wait, but perfectly black roots in the end. Very happy with the results and will definitely be buying it.

My greys have gone with this magic touch product. Grey hair is my constant worry, but this product last longer than any other product I have used till now. The colour shade blends in very well and not damaging my hair. The duration between the colour g is reduced hence my hair loss is minimum now.

The product was easy to use, the applicator was a nice touch. It didn't make the job any easier or harder, so not sure if it was needed. Touch up result was solid, perhaps a little darker than I would have gone for previously so would recommend choosing a slightly lighter shade. 100% recommended.

I tried this dye for the first time and get fantastic results. It was easy to mix and apply the solution, no mess no stain. The colour (I picked black) stayed on for long. My only additional wish is to be able to save the solution as I frequently perform small touch-ups needing only small amount.

The application was easy and I loved the little brush applicator. It made it a lot easier to apply. The content doesn’t look like a lot but I have thick hair and it was enough to cover my regrowth of greys.
Definitely would recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] hides greys well with the colour and can barely notice greys even though its not full coverage. also does not dry up so when you touch your hair, i get black marks on my hand. if i lie down on my pillow, it leaves marks so best to use when not doing either of those things or before a wash

I found the application process easy especially having two options of use to choose from. Also it was a quicker application time than most products i have previously used. I found it gave great coverage of my grey regrowth and the colour blended well. Would highly recommend this product.

It covered the roots perfectly it didn’t transfer on cloths and looked really natural. Smells very pleasant and it doesn’t dry your hair. It extended my mom’s hair colour appointment for a week!

The application process was very easy and relatively fast with good coverage. The brush was easy to use and goes through the hair smoothly to give a good coating to the hair. The tube had a good amount of dye and the results were amount the best I’ve ever experienced.
