Is tinted serum the same as BB cream?
BB cream and tinted serums are similar but not the same. Both provide sheer coverage and skincare benefits, but BB cream often includes SPF and acts more like a moisturiser with pigment. Tinted serums focus more on active ingredients like hyaluronic acid, delivering hydration and glow with a buildable tint.
Is tinted serum better than foundation?
Whether tinted serum or foundation is better for you depends on your skin needs and preferences. Tinted serum is better if you want light coverage, hydration, and added skincare benefits. Foundation is better suited if you want more coverage or prefer a specific finish, like matte or satin.
Is L'Oréal Serum foundation water-based?
No, the L'Oreal Paris True Match Serum Foundation is silicone-based, not water-based. While our True Match serum foundation does contain water as a primary ingredient, it also includes dimethicone, a type of silicone. Despite this, the formula combines serum and foundation benefits to hydrate the skin and provide coverage without clogging pores - similar to a water-based foundation.
Do you put serum foundation on before or after moisturiser?
It's best to apply your serum foundation after moisturiser, just like you would a regular foundation or BB cream. This ensures your skin is properly hydrated and the serum foundation applies smoothly, for a radiant, natural finish.

Low coverage skin enhancer/tint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you have a lot of blemishes and normally use a high-coverage foundation, then this product isn’t for you. However, if you’re after a no makeup, natural, healthy, glowy look then this tinted serum is perfect. 5-6 Medium Tan is on the darker end of my skin tone. 4-5 medium is probably more like my skin in winter. But actually, once blended in, it gives a lovely sun kissed glow. Unlike foundation, it doesn’t look cakey or powdery but is still able to even out your skin tone and red patches. See before and after below. The texture isn’t as runny as other serum foundations I’ve tried, it’s just right.

Perfect for acne prone skin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is amazing! Sadly the colour is too orange for me but I fix this by mixing it with a light moisturiser. This product is billable so perfect if you want slightly more coverage, I suffer from acne and have combination skin I found this didn’t break me out like most foundations do and left my skin feeling amazing. I would definitely repurchase this product and recommend it for the girls with acne prone skin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although I don't use a foundation as I find them heavy this is a nice lightweight replacement to a full foundation. I picked shade 5/6 as I didn't know which shade to select from a picture and as I don't normally use foundation but the shade was close enough. The product blended well and gave a decent coverage. I love the dropper style bottle as its easier to get the right amount and there is no waste.

I used about 2 drops for my chin and 2 on each for my cheeks for a nice even coverage. It leaves your skin feeling so bright a word of warning it does have a very strong scent to it when your first apply it. I am really impressed and excited about how well it lasts on my face and how soft and dewy my skin felt all day.

I bought this as my first "foundation" since i wanted very natural 'no makeup' look and this literally does the job! Pricey but worth it, one bottle lasts about 3 months for me (nearly everyday use). I use it for school and no one knows im wearing makeup 😂 not even the teachers im not sure about the oxidising but from my veiw i think it doesnt oxidise that much.

I had 5-6 which was a tad darker than what i would normally go for as all that was available at the time but I think if you choose a shade you would normally pick then it would be fine. It blended well and gave decent coverage, i just need a good primer now!
