What is foundation serum?

Is tinted serum the same as BB cream?
BB cream and tinted serums are similar but not the same. Both provide sheer coverage and skincare benefits, but BB cream often includes SPF and acts more like a moisturiser with pigment. Tinted serums focus more on active ingredients like hyaluronic acid, delivering hydration and glow with a buildable tint.
Is tinted serum better than foundation?
Whether tinted serum or foundation is better for you depends on your skin needs and preferences. Tinted serum is better if you want light coverage, hydration, and added skincare benefits. Foundation is better suited if you want more coverage or prefer a specific finish, like matte or satin.
Is L'Oréal Serum foundation water-based?
No, the L'Oreal Paris True Match Serum Foundation is silicone-based, not water-based. While our True Match serum foundation does contain water as a primary ingredient, it also includes dimethicone, a type of silicone. Despite this, the formula combines serum and foundation benefits to hydrate the skin and provide coverage without clogging pores - similar to a water-based foundation.
Do you put serum foundation on before or after moisturiser?
It's best to apply your serum foundation after moisturiser, just like you would a regular foundation or BB cream. This ensures your skin is properly hydrated and the serum foundation applies smoothly, for a radiant, natural finish.

Absolutely love it. Looks attractive & is functional. When not in use it's very discreet & you don't even notice it's there. We use it to block a draughty stairway onto our back deck. It does the job amazing. We did need to use our own screws supplied though. Dyna bolts are provided also, but they are cheap & flimsy quality. We also were anchoring the foot plates onto wood so they were not needed. The smaller pole for securing the awning was slightly bent out of shape but did not hinder the quality of the product or its functioning. Can be quite fiddly to close would be the only down side to the whole thing. Love it so much we're buying a 5 mtr one for the other side of the deck.

As an male who likes to crossdress occasionally i have tried many different foundations, in an effort to hide my 70+ year old skin imperfections, non of which come close to this one, it is so light on the skin, but still manages to hide my blemishes without going cakey with just one application on top of a CC cream. It lasts so well too. I usually apply my makeup early afternoon, and it still looks good in the early hours of the morning. After a quick blitz of all nighter setting spray. I have been using this for about 2 years now, and wouldn't change it for anything.

Really great finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’d been struggling on what to wear on my face when I return to work, but this is just what I was looking for. It gives a beautiful finish to the skin whilst still allowing freckles and moles to shine through. I wouldn’t describe it as glowing, as that to me implies it’s a slightly shiny finish. This is more of a healthy glow and a slightly Matt finish, so perfect for warmer days. The colour range 3-4 is perfect, even blending between when my face had tanned slightly & where it was still quite pale. The hyaluronic acid does a great job of filling in my lines & the didn’t sit in any deep lines that still remained. This product is so much more than a BB or CC cream, it’s perfect & is now my make up essential - love it!

Colour range not great but a beautiful product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The colour range of the plumping serum isn't great. I used light medium and use (Depending on time of year shade 120 or 140 in L'Oreal Infallible Freshwear foundation) and found it worked well when I was more tanned but not so much in the colder months. My skin is super hydrated and this is definitely a 'your skin but better' look. Coverage is low like you'd expect from a serum so good for those 'no makeup' makeup days. I do enjoy this product and feel its definitely a Summer product for me. I would recommend it and loved how plumped and hydrated my skin was.

Don't ever stop producing this

I have used the regular true match in 2 vanilla for quite a while, but being a woman over 50 I felt it settled quite cakey at times.. my skin is starting to age and look crepey amd I always felt it was a little too thick and I was contemplating a change of brand. I went into my chemist today and spotted this so I took a punt on it. Brilliant choice. I chose light and omg the colour match to my skin is seamless amd no caking on my crepey skin. In fact my skin looks very smooth and quite luminous. I'm sold

Fabulous coverage and lightweight yet still feeling nourishing on the skin. 1% pure hyaluronic acid!!! No need for foundation!! My combination skin love it, wore it all day only put powder on top and it lasted all day! No even transfer on face mask!! Perfect dupe for CT flawless filter product even better than it!! Love a multitasking product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This will become a staple product in my makeup bag. I've always preferred a natural daytime makeup look and this will help me achieve that easily. A light coating of colour but enough to blur the imperfections in my skin. I particularly like the 2 in 1 formulation so I don't have to wait between spplying serum then foundation on top. The serum felt lovely on application and not at all sticky. Skin felt hydrated all day without a hint of tightness I usually feel later in the day.

Wow! This product’s quality is surprisingly high. It’s true, it doesn’t cover scars or spots, but a bit of concealer sorts that out! Lasts the whole day, the colour match range is so wide, feels so natural… I’m sensitive to texture, smell, etc. This blends so perfectly after you apply moisturiser. My skin is dry and sensitive. I can’t stand any other foundation. Adds some colour and sets base for bronzer and concealer. Love love love it! Best new product ever.
