Pro XXL Pro XXL Lift Mascara - Black

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mascara works in a two step way to achieve long curled lashes. Apply from wand 2 at first to give good even coverage then apply a second layer with wand 2 to give enhanced cover and a lift to the lashes. A little practice was needed to achieve this but when I got the hang of it my short fairly straight lashes were curled up and looking longer and fuller! Very pleased with the result. Lasted very well and removed easily with an eye make up remover product. My only advice would be to make sure there’s not too much product on the wands when you apply better to add more than have too much in one go!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Always hard choosing a mascara you are happy with as we are all different but I really do not think you can go wrong with this one! Firstly it has 2 separate brushes - the first is straight and the second is fuller and curved. I put a light coating on using the first brush and it was easy and effortless. I then used the curved brush on both upper and lower lids - I have to say I personally was more impressed by the impact on the lower lashes. I am not into the full on 'false eye lash look' but have little doubt that you could achieve a deeper longer lash with more application than I wanted to use.

I've purchased too many mascaras in the past claiming voluminous and lifted lashes....but this actually works! Upon first application of the volumising wand i could see my thin poker straight lashes were thicker. I only applied one layer but I'm sure this is buildable withought clogging. I then used the lifting wand next. Again, only one coat but i could see an instant lift. The application didn't leave any clumps...I'm happy with this. Will see throughout the day whether this mascara smudges under my eyes now but it appears to not budge!

It’s a 2 step mascara, the 1st straight brush adds volume and the 2nd curved brushed lifts the lashes. I found it definitely added volume and lift, and my lashes looked longer and thicker. Personally I would wear this mascara on a night to give my lashes the extra wow factor, rather than in the daytime as I feel for me especially, as I wear contact lens the 2 products on my lashes would feel a little heavy for me in the daytime compared to my usual daytime mascara, but for dressed up night out mascara this would be the mascara for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Non clumpy mascara with a wand that separates lashes for a more defined look. The mascara stays on all day (8 hr at work) and doesn't flake or clump. I found that it worked on my eyelids which are more oily than most. Easier than lash extensions or false lashes and faffing with the glue and ruining your eyeshadow. Simple- apply step 1. I curl at this stage, but then apply step 2. I use a hairdryer for a few seconds on my lash curler to add heat and additional volume to "lock" the mascara into place. Step 2 is the finishing touch and separates the lashes and lengthens them. useful to pop into a bag and not too large to chuck into a smaller clutch or bag for re-application if you feel so inclined.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s been a while since I’ve used a two-step mascara, but wow, it was worth the extra time to apply a primer first! Love that the primer is also black, long gone are the days of the white primer! It helped give some volume to my lashes before the mascara was applied which in turn provided a lot of length and a nice lift! Really liked that they are both bristly brushes as I much prefer those to silicone ones. I do wish it gave a bit more volume though as I’ve got fairly long lashes to begin with, but they need extra volume and this didn’t give me loads. Plenty for daytime, but I would probably choose a different one for an evening look. All in all happy with this mascara and will happily keep on using it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The gold standard of the mascara world. I've been using L'Oreal mascara since the day I started wearing make-up.So not far short of 40 years then. There are expensive mascaras and there are cheap one's. And you do get what you pay for. But I find woth L'Oreal you get reasonably prided and excellent results too. I always use a primer as I find it coats and separates the lashes ready for mascara. This one is black which stops that leftover white like most other primers are. The mascara is really good and coats lashes well, not clumpy or sticky. The wands are perfect and just the right size and shape needed to get a fantastic look. The results are so amazing and compliment a nice eyeshadow or even just a natural face look.

The mascara has two brushes and you use the first straight brush to achieve volume, and the second brush to achieve curl. It left my lashes looking longer and very defined but I did find it left a clumpy look, however it did not smudge or flake. It is a strong bold mascara and I personally would only use it occasionally as its slightly too bold for an every day look in my opinion. I would recommend to anyone who wants a strong bold lash, and the two brushes do exactly as they say and are a great idea.

I have always wanted to use false eyelashes, but was never able to get them right. This mascara totally eliminated my need for false eyelashes in one go, it's just amazing. It's a 2 stage application and so easy and the results are fabulous. I look like I have the longest, fullest, most gorgeous eyelashes ever when I use this. This will be my mascara of choice from now on as it has given me the look I have wanted for so many years. Thank you L'Oréal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have naturally fine thin lashes, so Loreal's Pro-XXL was very welcome. This mascara darkens, and adds the wow factor to lashes, making them look long and fluttery. So if that is the effect you are after, go for it! There are two brushes, the first one (helpfully labelled 1) is the straight brush for volumizing, and the curved brush(No 2) is to curl the lashes. My lashes are ultra straight so while there was definitely a lifting effect, I didn't notice much of a curl. I do like this mascara though, as it is pretty much smudge and flake proof.

I really like the red metallic finish of the sleek, stylish packaging and the wand designs as well as the intense black pigmentation of this mascara. The mascara is buildable, felt lightweight, left my lashes feeling soft, dried quickly and just as claimed, didn't smudge, flake or irritate my (sometimes) sensitive eyes. While the mascara certainly added a touch of length to my lashes, it failed to lift and curl as promised, nor did it provide much volume. I was also disappointed at how it clumped my lashes together, I had to work really hard in order achieve some semblance of separation. Sadly it's a no from me and I will be sticking to my ride or die Air Volume 30hr mascara

Not sure I noticed much difference between wands 1 and 2 - but I definitely noticed a difference between with this mascara and without! Goes on easily without clumping & really gives you volume on your lashes. Most importantly however is it lasted ALL day without smudging down my face, but then was easy enough to remove with my usual soap & liz Earle facecloth at the end of the day. I will definitely be adding this mascara to my makeup bag & can see a future purchase when this one runs out! Definitely recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great lash lifting mascara which really does make my lashes hold their curl and give them length. Sometimes I just use the first step only, but for more drama (And volume) the second step is great. The fragrance of the mascara is fairly low which is good and its a solid black so does emphasise lashes lovely. My only issue (And this could be from the heatwave we've had in the UK) is that is flakes a bit on me and irritates my eyes terribly when it does. This could be down to heat though. Otherwise its a solid mascara and I enjoy using it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these 2-step Mascaras as I find myself usually using 2 different mascaras during my makeup routine anyway to give me the results I desire. Step 1 helps to lengthen my lashes and step 2 gives them an amazing lift. This Mascara was easy to apply and didn't clump or cause any mess on application and unlike a lot of other Mascaras on the market, it stayed put and didn't flake throughout the day meaning no dreaded panda eyes. I would definitely recommend this Mascara for those who want the best of both worlds, length AND lift.

When using both steps one and two together it creates the look of longer lashes, the wands separate each lash so this makes sure every lash is coated in mascara the second brush also adds a little curl to the lash, doesn't smudge throughout the day and easy to remove. For me personally I would have preferred if the applicator part unscrewed from the tube rather than the tube itself (hope that makes sense) as it can make it a little top heavy when trying to apply.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, this is my new favourite mascara. It goes on in 2 steps, the first mascara brush is straight and gives your lashes up to 17 times more volume. I was happy with step 1 on its own, step 2 mascara brush is curved and gives you a 20 degree lift on your lashes. It really works, my lashes looked fuller and lifted, I was so pleased. You can wave goodbye to your uncomfortable eyelash curlers, you don’t need them anymore with this mascara. Stayed on all day with no clumping or smudges. Run, don’t walk to get this mascara

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mascaras have always been the bane of my makeup routine - I struggle with having very straight lashes that don't hold a curl. Most mascaras look amazing when first applied, then within an hour my lashes fall again and it looks like it's flaking off my eyes.

This mascara is great for how it lengthens and volumises lashes, but also for it's staying power. I can do a 12 hour shift, come home, and it's still ON my lashes rather than underneath them. I prefer the (1) side when layered with another mascara, as I feel the (2) side adds just a touch too much volume that easily leads to clumpiness, but I'm happy to use 2 on occasions that call for more makeup.

Overall a great product, and will definitely repurchase once this one runs out (L'oreal, please make a full size (1) mascara!)

I received this mascara from community xSeen in exchange for my review, I like the mascara separately but not with using both sides together as it makes the lashes very clumpy and stumpy looking. I used the first wand and it did make my lashes look quite long but I have gotten longer lashes with another mascara made my loreal beauty tubes. It doesn't transfer or smudge but it did flake a little throughout the day. Easy to remove with Cleanser. I would recommend this to people who like thick clumpy lashes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been using this for a week now, and its ok. Not as much lift as I would have expected but does make a slight difference. I have found that you need to use wand 1 then wand 2 straight away (I would usually do both top lashes in 1 then both in 2 but have found by the time I have done both top lashes in 1 then do the 2nd wand it is already dry and doesn't look good). I do really love the size and bend on wand 2, it is great for bottom lashes. I also dont use wand 1 on bottom lashes either, just wand 2

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE the Pro XXL Lift Mascara i like the fact it has a straight wand to cover all the lashes with the product and then step 2 is the curved wand which gives you the XXL lift. The wand picks up just the right amount of product so no wastage which i like. The mascara itself has pro-keratin in it which aids in the growth and longer lashes which i love as i dont need to spend a large amount getting a lift. The texture of the mascra is super light and the lift lasts all day giving me a stunning eye look.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We went to Llandudno for a long weekend and I tried L'Oréal Pro XXL Lift Mascara for the first time.

I was a little skeptical as I have very sparse, fair lashes and rarely use mascara as it takes so long to layer sufficient to make much notice. I followed the instructions to use the 1st end of the tube followed by the 2nd. I was truly amazed by the results my lashes needed only one application and my lashes were both long and lifted!

I have been using these primer based / double ended mascaras for many years now as they allow me to layer well and create thick lashes (spider eyes!) which help my eyes stand out. I have been using the blue and white one (waterproof) until now. I loved it, but found the white primer end to often show through layer two (black) on some lashes, so coverage wasn’t always great. I decided to try this because the primer wand is black too. I was a little reluctant to switch, as this is not a waterproof mascara ( to my knowledge). I have been pleasantly surprised and so happy I tried it. It is thick and does not smudge or run, like many of the non waterproof mascaras have from this range. I’ve purchased another 3 and would recommend to people who like to use thick / layering mascara. 5* product !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have short, straight eyelashes due to my East Asian ethnicity. This brush did not get on well with my lashes at all. There was so much product lumped onto the brush that I could barely see the brush. The product was thick and gloopy leaving me with huge clumps on my eyes which smeared onto my eyelid. My lashes are very straight and this did nothing to lift or curl them, I'm afraid. There are plenty of L'oreal mascaras and brushes that work well with my lash type, sadly this is not one of them.

My lashes looked completely transformed, like I was wearing false lashes. I really liked the formulas of both sides & they work great together leaving me with really good looking lashes. Overall I'm really happy with the results. The formulas do dry quickly so once you've applied side 1 you can't hang about too long before applying side 2 or it won't go on smoothly & will look clumpy. I made that mistake the first couple of times time, but once I'd got my timings right I had no more issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have absolutely loved this mascara. I have used similar ones before with a primer but didn't it nice on my eyelashes. However this mascara it really does lift my lashes and gives it the curl without needing to use a curler. I think it's the primer and the curved lash brush that makes the difference. My eyelashes are very particular with what wand brush I use but this mascara has ticked all the boxes. It gives my lashes volume, curl & thickness, doesn't clump and it's easy to remove.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used several ‘L’oreal’ double ended mascara’s in the past & having loved them, was excited to try the new ‘Pro XXL Lift’ mascara.
The colour is very pigmented which is fab and the formula for both mascara’s is really quite thick you only need 1 coat of each mascara.
The formula was thicker than I am used to, usually I would do 2-3 coats of mascara so automatically did this with the 1st mascara then realised my mistake.
The formula also takes a while to dry enough to be able to apply the 2nd mascara which can be abit of a pain. I would have preferred the 2nd wand have more of a curve in it but that is personnel preference.
I also noticed a slight chemically smell, not a deal breaker but just slightly unpleasant.
Overall as long as you only apply 1 coat of each mascara you will have bold fanned out lashes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to love this mascara, unfortunately it's not one i would repurchase.
The biggest issue i had was during application i got mascara all over my lid, no matter how careful i was or the attention i paid. Fine if you have no eyeshadow and can clean up, but really annoying if you've spent time doing your other eye products.
The other issues included even distribution of the product and some clumping together of lashes. I dont think the 2nd wand added any great curl to my lashes when used after wand 1.
I think both wands add volume to a similar effect. Slight more curl if i just used wand 2 first, and found it less clumpy than wand 1.
So overall, you can get some curl a good amount of volume, but can be slightly messy. If i had no other mascara available i can make it work, but wouldnt even make my top 10.

My lashes look thicker, longer and have much more lift making my eyes really stand out. There is no clumping at all and it doesn't leave my lashes looking like spiders legs. My daughter has been using it too and loves the results so much she's stopped wearing her false lashes as it looks so similar. I would definitely recommend this mascara for all looks and occasions.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven’t used a L’Oréal mascara in years as I’ve been using ‘high end’ products but I decided I’d give this one a go and I’m so glad I did! Step one gives you lovely volumised separated lashes and then step two just adds the extra va va voom. I love how volumised and black my lashes look. It flakes slightly above my eye when I look in the mirror at lunchtime but this seems to happen to me with all mascaras. This will definitely be a “go to”one for me from now on.
