The protective colouring cream is enriched with Pro-Keratin for long lasting colour. The gentle scalp post-colour shampoo delicately cleanses the scalp and hair by gently rinsing away excess residue.
Formulated specifically to be used right after colouring your hair. Complete the routine with the caring lightweight mask which is infused with conditioning ingredients, our mask intensively nourishes the hair without weighing it down.

How To Use
1) Add the colouring cream to the developer and shake well to mix.
2) Apply the mix to your hair, starting from the roots then throughout the lengths and ends. Leave in hair for 30 mins.
3) Rinse your hair until the water runs clear. Use the Caring Gentle pH Shampoo to remove any excess residue.
4) Apply a hazelnut amount of the Lightweight Nourishing Mask. Leave in for 3 mins then rinse your hair. Use the mask once a week until your next colour for soft, shiny, lively hair.
IMPORTANT - The colour of the mix looks different than before, but hair colour results remains the same as long as it is not rinsed before the 30-minute processing time.

How to use Excellence crème?
Carry out an allergy test before your colouring. Add the colouring cream (1a) to the developer (1b), shake the mixture well so that it is homogeneous. Put on the gloves. Apply the mixture to dry hair, first at the roots, massage the scalp then apply to the lengths and ends, thoroughly soaking the entire hair with products. Leave on for 30 minutes. After application rinse the hair until the water runs clear. Remove gloves. Apply the treatment shampoo (2) and massage the scalp thoroughly until the foam is rich and intense. Rinse out the shampoo. Distribute the post-colouring balm (3) throughout the hair. Leave on for 3 minutes then rinse your hair. Use two boxes if you have medium to long hair (below the shoulders).
Is Excellence crème covering grey hair?
Yes, it covers 100% of the greys!
Which hair colour suits me best? / How to choose hair colouration shade?
You can check which suits you best on the swatches of before and after on the pack or try it online on the L’Oréal Paris website. A good tip is to always go with the lighter shade when you are between 2.
Is hair colouration/ Excellence crème safe while pregnant?
It don't have any contra indications, but it's always best to check with your doctor.
Is Excellence crème without ammonia?
No, Excellence Creme does contain ammonia.
How does the formula work?

Save your $$ and DIY with L'Oreal Excellence Creme

I bought the L'Oreal Excellence Creme in Ash Blonde (8.1). The box supplies gloves (that are a little too small for my hands), a 72ml bottle of developer with comb attachment, a 48ml tube of colouring cream (so that's about 120ml of formula - if I had long hair I would have needed two kits), post colouring shampoo and conditioner.
This has been my favourite colour so far. It has lightened me without turning me orange, which is something I tend to do when I try and go a couple of shades lighter. It didn't completely cover my greys but thats okay as I don't have that many (yet). I was very happy with this colour and will look for it again.

New formula is terrible

I have been using this dye for years and it has worked well. However I purchased a new box and it looks like the ingredients/formula have changed. After dying my hair my scalp has a yellow tinge and my greys are not covered.

There's a new look and a shade for everybody in this range. Gone are the days where I can afford to go to the salon every two months so I spread out my salon visita and handover my interim hair colour treatments to L'Oreal Excellence. It's incredible the results you can get at a fraction of the salon price and a 'hair pick me up' always feels great. My husband sometimes asks if I've been to the salon - how good is that? I need a dye that doesn't strip the hair too much as I'm always working against the grain to combat dry hair - this does a pretty good job, leaving my hair soft and manageable.

I have dyed my hair it has made the grey hair green/yellow.

New formula - different result.

Like the other reviews, I am disappointed with the new formula. I’ve been using this colour for years, my first experience with the new formula was yesterday and the coverage is terrible. It also has a godly yellow tinge. I noticed the difference in the colour of the dye when applying too.

Very poor quality!!! The texture of cream is dry

Many years i using Loreal Excellence cream 4.15 and soo happy with results of DIY my hair. New look box comes out recently 2024 and it’s horrible quality, looks like the ingredients is changed as well, the colour is washing out and grey hair is visible soo much. Im not talking about grey hair that grow, im talking about hair that coloured before. Im Soo disappointing in new excellence cream.

Terrible new formula

I’ve used L’Oreal hair dye for many years and am so disappointed in this new formula. As many have already stated it no longer covers grey hair but gives it an odd tone. I’m not sure why you had to mess with a great product but please consider changing it back. I’m now trying other brands.

New formula - Extremely Terrible

I have been using this product for over 10 years and very happy with the results. But unfortunately the new formula is terrible. The colour does not cover the grey hair. Also the colour does not last long. Absolutely terrible result with the new formula.

The new product has horrible results,
I've used L'Oreal Excellence for over 20 years and unfortunately will no longer be using this product as the resulting colour is absolutely horrible. Very disappointed
