Elvive Colour Protect Conditioner 800ml

A few months ago I noticed a big difference in how my hair feels after using the Elvive Colour Protect shampoo. It feels like I can’t seem to wash it off my hair and scalp and when I dry it it feels like my roots are coated with a waxy film. This is no matter how long I spend trying to wash it out in the summer and this happens even when I don’t use any conditioner. I haven’t changed anything about the water I use to wash my hair in or anything else about my hair routine. Very strange and disappointing! My hair dresser had to wash my hair 4 times to get my scalp to feel clean when had it cut and blow dried recently.

Really disappointed in this new formula. I have used L'Oreal products and in particular the colour protect conditioner for many many years. On using this new conditioner formula for the first time I left it on for 2 minutes. After drying my hair I found it had left a residue and my hair felt and looked greasy. I had to go back in the shower immediately and rewash my hair and use a different conditioner I had in. Another day I tried again and realised it should be left for just 1 minutes which I did. Sadly it still left my hair looking and feeling flat and greasy and so I will not be using this product again. Please L'Oreal, return to the original formula which was a great product.

I used this in February and didn't realise they had changed the formula .... at first I thought it was one of the other products I use but after a process of elimination I realised it was this conditioner ... it left a thick coating on my hair and it looked so greasy and was really hard to get a brush / comb through it ..... my daughter uses the same and it had the same effect on her hair and now she has changed to another product .... L'Oréal why did you have to change the formula ... surely after all the bad reviews you need to listen to your otherwise loyal customers .... I would never recommend this product to anyone now .... I still use the shampoo and now use the hair mask as a conditioner instead.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the shampoo and conditioner after my fun run on sunday and was amazed how this conditioner was so easy to apply to the palm of my hand and then to my hair in the shower it was thick and easy to use without half of it falling down the plug. It felt so nourishing on my hair and easy to comb through with my fingers from root to tip. I then towel dried and used my hair dryer my highlights were so bright it was nice to have this refresh and my hair was really manageable. I combed through my hair and was so pleased with the improved look of my colour and my ends.

I have used loriel alive colour protect shampoo and conditioner for 22 years. I have extremely sensitive scalp and Elvive has never caused a reaction until now. The fragrance has changed and is fabulous, I love it, the colour of the bottles have changed to a more pinkish red, nice , I like that too but, my head is sore and itchy every day after washing my hair. I am devastated as elvive is literally the only non medicated shampoo that I have ever used that doesn’t cause my scalp to react. What ingredients are in the new formula that was not in the old one?
