Elvive Colour Protect Conditioner 800ml

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this in conjunction with the shampoo and was surprised at the result. My hair is thick but fine so conditioner tends to weigh it down and I often feel like my hair hasn't been washed. I only needed a small amount of this once I'd shampooed it and although I needed to really wash it through, even wet my hair didn't feel weighed down like it can do. I gave myself a quick blow dry and it was remarkable how light and shiny it felt. I was really impressed with the result.

I used the colour protect shampoo and conditioner for years. People would always say how healthy my hair looked and how I had such awesome natural colour. The formula has now changed, and I can't stand this product anymore. It leaves me hair feeling horrible and greasy, along with a rather strong smell.
A few other Loreal shampoo/conditioners have also had their formulas changed recently, and sadly none of which are improved in any way. No idea what L'Oreal were thinking.

I have been using your colour protect shampoo and conditioner for over 20 years. For the first time ever I have just purchased another conditioner as my hair has not looked as good lately, the smell of the conditioner is not very nice and the price is not worth it. Also my head is really itchy at times. I really loved the old formula. I thought it was just me but I can now see lots of other people think the same. Shampoo to be changed next unfortunately…

This was the best conditioner ever! Sadly, it has been quietly reformulated and has been ruined. It leaves a coating on your hair that makes it look greasy. No amount of rinsing will remove it. After conditioning and drying, hair is left feeling like straw that is coated. After consistently buying this for over 10 years I am forced to look for an alternative as it is no longer doing what it used to do. It has gone from fab to cheap and nasty.

Having previously used and loved the extraordinary oils range, particularly the conditioners (which used the classic dimethicone), I’ve come back to the L’Oréal Elvive range of conditioners after noticing that they’ve reintroduced dimethicone alongside amodimethicone. I have virgin hair and amodimethicone alone doesn’t provide a uniform seal to prevent tangling in my dry, frizzy and wavy hair. Although I don’t have coloured hair, this colour protect conditioner moisturises and defines my waves beautifully, despite containing isopropyl alcohol (which can be drying). Please consider keeping this exact formula. Different people have different hair needs, and this formula is suitable for people like me who need dimethicone based conditioners. A different version could be formulated for people who prefer less moisture. But please don’t discontinue this formula.

I actually never write reviews… however, had to with this.
I love the product, much better for my hair type and I love the new scent. The scent stays in my hair as if it’s a hair perfume.
Looking at the reviews they are really mixed… I guess it’s all down to personal preference.
For me this is the best product to clean, enhance my colour and give a gorgeous smell throughout the day.
I would recommend to just give it a try.

Used to be great - I've been using for over 2 decades, even although I did not colour my hair. It added shine and volume. Sadly the formulation has changed, and I end up with limp, greasy hair after washing, conditioning and drying. I need to wash my hair much more often now.
I'm going to buy an alternative product after I finish the bottle I have. It was giod for years, but now it is rubbish.

I have been using this shampoo and conditioner for at least 20 years, my hairdresser always amazed at the condition of my hair, but I can’t believe the difference with this new formula, not only does it leave my hair feeling sticky and greasy, but it’s making my scalp itch and leaving me with nasty scabbing spots, only just realised it was this causing the itching when I read the other reviews. If it wasn’t so difficult to get a GP appointment, I would have asked her to check if something was causing it i.e. medication. My husband is telling me to complain to L’Oréal. Why change something that was so perfect.

I have spent the last 2 months, trying out alternatives, which is proving very difficult. I just binned all the bottles that I had purchased as I always buy them when they are on offer, as I wash my hair daily. Please bring back the original formula. I have rated 1 star, but it’s not deserved.

Sadly I have to agree with the other reviewers. I have used this conditioner for years and wondered what had happened when I started a new bottle. My hair felt flat and lifeless and smelt overpoweringly of the conditioner. Sadly I had bought a large bottle which I will have to use up but in the meantime will be searching for a different conditioner. So, so, so disappointed.

After using this product for over 20 year's its formula has been changed including the scent. Before it left my hair thick and healthy looking . Now my hair looks thin and I'm not convinced that it's protecting my hair colour after dying. The scent is way too strong and not remotely enjoyable.
So all in all very disappointing and now need to find a new product.

For 10+ years I have used the colour protect shampoo and conditioner but now you have changed it and it’s not good at all! My hair used to be soft and shiny but now it dull and and leaves my hair stiff even though I spend ages making sure it is thoroughly washed out. I will not be buying it again which is unfortunate. I hope you change it back in the future!

I have been using this product for years, I’ve just bought the new and improved formula one, and I have to say I’m disappointed in it. It leaves a coating on your hair, hair feels greasy and heavy. Luckily I had a bottle of a supermarket version, which I have to say is what I’ll be using from now on! You have a made a perfectly good product rubbish!

As always, this made my hair feel super soft & nourished and the fragrance is fresh with a fruity hint. Paired with the Shampoo, my hair feels amazing.
Plus with it being a slightly smaller bottle (but same amount of product) it now fits better on my shelf.

I have very long, fine hair with balayage. I've been using the shampoo for a couple of weeks, havent noticed any difference in my colour but my hair feels very nourished and healthy with no extra weight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This conditioner is super creamy and coats your hair in a wonderful, fruity fragrance. I think it smells like pomegranate, but it might be the Vitamin Cg that helps to protect coloured hair from fading. It did help maintain that freshly coloured hair feel you get from an intense condition, and my hair looked and smelt great afterwards.

Have been using L'Oreal shampoo and conditioner for over 20 years. The new conditioner formula is awful, leaves my hair heavy, greasy and unmanageable, will not be using it again, so disappointed, really loved using these L'Oreal products all these years, will be using another one going forward, that suits my hair

I use to love this conditioner but unfortunately it has been changed , it now leaves my hair heavy and greasy ( I’ve never had greasy hair before in my life ) I have been using it for 8 years but it changed last month. It still smells good but unfortunately for my hair I will no longer be using it .

I have been using loreal elvive shampoo and conditioner for over 20 years. Recently, my hair has been limp and greasy, and feels really oily. I've realised that it's because of the new formula conditioner. Please change back to the original formula, because sadly, I won't be using it again.

What have you done to my favourite hair conditioner… my hair is so greasy this morning because of it… washed and conditioned with my Loreal products but the new hair conditioner colour protect has left my hair awful… all that money spent and wasted… I’ve used these products for years what a shame…

It leaves my hair feeling fresh and light, no heavy residue. It helps keep my highlights fresh and I can go longer between washes if needed.

I have highlighted hair and after several weeks of usage I felt my colour didn’t fade as much as when I use other products. This was used in conjunction with the shampoo. This is always my go to when I have dyed hair as it leaves my hair feeling softer and shinier, never mind smelling amazing. Only need a small amount and makes my hair easier to comb through which is an added bonus.

Used this product for many years but just started a new bottle of conditioner and it has left my hair disgusting and full of grease. What have you done L’Oréal?? Going to have to find a new conditioner from a different brand. Please fix it L’Oréal. So disappointed

Please can we have the old one back which was fabulous and left my hair looking so good. The new formula leaves me hair flat and with no bounce of body. Has it even been tested? Just dreadful. If I can’t get any of the old bottles I will go to a different brand

I have used this product for YEARS but the new formula leaves my hair looking greasy & flat. It also smells horrendous, husband commented my hair smelt burnt after washing!!! Absolutely gutted. Now to spend a fortune finding a suitable alternative! Fuming.

Pleasant fragrance. Didn’t notice any difference in hair colour, but that might a good sign that the colour hadn’t faded !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this shampoo it works wonders on my long hair and smells amazing also this products packaging is now made with 15% less plastic and also uses recycled materials which is great for the environment . These bottles are now easier to refill as well .

Please bring back the original quality. I've been using the Elvive colour protection shampoo and conditioner for years but unfortunatelly, recent Elvive shampoo&conditioner didn't go well with my hair. I'll have to try different product now. Sadly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is hard to tell in a short timescale how much this is helping my coloured hair. It is a nice creamy conditioner with a good consistency and it smells very pleasant. My hair feels soft and glossy after using the product and that is the main aim!
