Prime Lab 24 Hour Matte Setter Primer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this primer, the best I have tried so far! It is easy to apply and it goes on evenly, also you need fairly small amount of it. It feels kind of refreshing on skin without adding heaviness or sticky layer. It is fantastic at holding make up in place for the whole day plus I found that it is easier and smoother to apply foundation on top of it. I have a shiny forehead and while using this primer the shine was gone, I was checking it throughout the day and nope the shine did not appear even by evening! Fantastic! By the evening my make up looked almost like in the morning which is much better than without it. I would dare to say that it makes foundation to look smoother too! It did not block pores which is really good for me. Overall I am happy with results and I would recommend it to my friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A little on those areas that needs help works like a miracle i also tried using all over the face too it's like a very thin syrup consistency slightly sticky smells sugary this product dosent seem to sink into the face straight away just sits there maybe 10/15mins (time to pop the kettle on) protection/primer police for the face making my makeup locked in lasting all day and most of the night with no shine no smudge just a smooth matt complexion great results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 24 hour matte primer from L'Oreal is one of the better primers that I've used. It has a great grip on it. It mattifies wonderfully! It feels slightly sticky, but that's just the grip on it to be used with a primer and/or foundation. My makeup lasted all day using this primer. I love that it has LHA and salicylic acid in it making it a skincare product as well. I would definitely recommend this to anybody with combo or oily skin, it works really great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first day of wearing I was definitely not oil-free but it gave an overall matte finish to my skin upon first viewing of the application. At the end of the day I still had oil in my oily zones but I felt that it was not as heavy or concentrated as it normally is. I feel like after wearing this product for several applications that my oil is definitely reduced but it was not completely gone. I feel that this is a great primer for oily skin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have combination skin, so it tends to be oily in some areas and dry in others. With that being said, I did enjoy this primer - it did help to mattify those oily areas for me, however, if you have all over oily skin I am not quite sure this would be the primer for you as mine is in small patches. It did help my make up to go on smoothly as primers are usually intended to do, so that is a plus. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

I bought this because I usually use L’Oréal infallible primer and thought this was the ‘improved version’. Sadly not. It doesn’t seem to sit well on my combination skin - some of my foundation looks great on top of it and other parts look bobbly and the foundation sits in my pores. Tried the advice from L’Oréal live chat about small dotes etc but still not worked. I guess if my skin was even in its shine/ dryness then it would be better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked this primer. It has a really nice consistency and left my skin feeling nice and smooth before I applied my foundation. My foundation went on beautifully over the top of it and my skin looked really nice. I love the fact it’s matte so my face doesn’t look shiny but it wasn’t so matte that my makeup looked flat. It lasted all day although I can’t say whether or not it lasts 24 hours as I always take my makeup off at night.

It did actually keep me matte in the places I placed the product, and layered really well between my skincare and makeup. Actually impressed.

Subtracting a star for their claim that it "balances skin over time". At the amount of skincare in this product, I can't imagine this is actually a measurable claim.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the texture of this primer, it wasn’t as silicone feeling as older versions and it provided a matte and smooth base to apply my makeup. In terms of managing shine, it didn’t really appear to make a huge difference even with powder and setting spray but I will try with some of my long wearing matte foundations. I will state that it didn’t cause separation and that my foundation did apply well over it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really great primer. You can really feel it working over a few days to improve your skin. The first time it didn’t feel that great, as my skin was getting used to it, but by day 2, my skin was really well balanced with most of my oily spots gone, by day 3/4 even my chin wasn’t as oily. It really made my foundation smoother & I also found I used a lot less as it wasn’t sitting in my skin anymore.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This primer grabs make up very good. Foundation stays on all day. It has a tacky - grabby texture to it. Does it matte my t zone? For maybe first few hours, yes. I have very, very oily T zone. I used loads of different primers who claimed I ll have a matte skin. Never worked.
I have noticed tho, depending how busy my day is, it stays matte longer.
Overall its a good primer, make up sits very nicely on skin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was shocked by this primer. I'm not quite sure which other primer I could compare it to. It's not super tacky but it's not like a lotion either. It sinks in and dries down quickly. I love my it cosmetics bye bye foundation and using this primer was a 1000% game changer in the Caribbean humidity. No foundation melting, slipping, or peeling. I was shocked to be so obsessed with this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used it on concerned areas of my face, and I have to say that this primer performed well all day. It kept my makeup in place, and mattified without making my skin too dry. In overall I like this product as it goes pretty smooth and doesn't feel too heavy on my face. I couldn't see any effect of smoothing the skin though, but maybe I will try it with different foundation next.

Typically, I have oily skin, but at the time of trying this product, I was experiencing dry skin, so I had to only apply this product to my nose (an area that was still oily). I would definitely recommend applying this product to ONLY oily areas, because it will keep your look matte, and potentially be too drying for dry areas!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A lot more watery than I expected this to be for a primer and it had a very odd smell. That being said it blurred my combination skin to allow my makeup to sit on my skin without feeling too heavy. I would even use it with putting any makeup on if my skin was feeling particularly oily I did also find it a little drying around my nose so I wouldn’t use this every day

I miss the infallible primer, used it for years and made my makeup look smooth and helped it last. This new primer is horrid, makes your makeup look cakey and dry, almost impossible to blend your makeup over it which means it leaves streaks on your face. Also seems to make my makeup come off easier and I find I’m missing patches throughout the day. Going in the bin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have combo skin and I was expecting more from this product. It doesn't show an obvious difference, but maybe with more time using it. After 4 hours wearing it, my face had the same oily appearance like if I'm not adding anything. Also the smell of the fragrance is way too strong but does go away once on but I personally don't like fragrance on my skin.

It doesn't dry my skin and it provides a matte effect that's really long lasting! I've been using it daily and have seen great improvement as my skin stays moisturised following my am routine while still holding my make up in place. Perfect adittion!

I bought this because the clear primer wasn’t available. It makes it very difficult to apply make up which dries before it can be smoothed out and then hurts my skin as I have to rub it harder to smooth out make up. The clear basic primer is lovely and make up glides on over it so if you want primer don’t buy this. It was wasted money for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cream disappears quickly into skin leaving a smooth soft evenly balanced layer silky to touch. A great canvas to apply my makeup. I love it doesn’t over power just creates an amazing base. My face feels even and really balanced. No shine no greasiness not sure how but makeup seems to last longer, and apply more evenly with smoother surface.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice primer that lasts well. It would be ideal for someone with oily skin, as it really does soak up any oils and mattifies the skin. I wouldn't recommend this for someone with dry skin. For normal/combination skin i would just apply to the t zone. Without makeup, skin appears more smoothe and makeup also sits well on top of it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This matte setter makeup primer works well, it applies on nicely and instantly mattes the oily areas on the face. When applying foundation, this primer has a grip to it so for me it was a little harder to apply and I prefer the smoother less tacky primers. However, it kept my face looking flawless throughout the night and did not budge!

It felt soothing and made my skin look matte and prepared to add makeup as primer should. It didn't peel my skincare off either like more primers cause it to. It helped my makeup look more professional and last throughout my workshift sweating. I would definitely recommend!

Due to L'Oreal discontinuing the Infalliable Mattifying base which i liked, i bought this one. I can only conclude that its average. It was ok on parts of my face but other areas of my makeup seem to have been worn off, despite nothing touching those parts of my face. So I conclude it gives blotchy results. Unlikely to buy it again!

I apply this primer right after the last step of my skincare routine. I'm going to be stocking up on this stuff and will absolutely be trying the other three primers too! L'Oreal is always going to be a favorite makeup brand of mine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although I don't wear much makeup I found the primer to be a great face smoother after using moisturiser and before applying cover stick to any blemishes. It made applying the cover stick a lot easier and my skin was more even toned even without any face make up. It also left my face a lot less shiny than with moisturiser alone

It's the consistency and hold for me. It didn't make my skin feel dry or even make my makeup cakey. I love that this primer made my makeup look 10x better than before. I will definitely have to restock on this one.

This blends in leaving not a trace of any of those little imperfections even with a tinted moisturiser lasts all day love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that it leaves the bottom base of my skin smooth and helps cover my pores and leaves a smooth look and feel. I also like that it doesn't leave my skin oily since I've seen that in a lot of other products like this one I have tried. For reference, i usually use the loreal foundation or MAC, which works perfectly on it.

I get greasy during the day and have struggled to find something that really helps, without ruining the integrity of my foundation. This is a great primer that really sticks to my skin, and helps me not to look shiny throughout the day. I recommend it for all my oiler girls out there!
