This is a product I will be going to buy again! To be honest I put more time / effort / money into skincare and make-up rather than hair, so I wasn't super interested in trying this hair mask out as I thought it was kind of surplus (why use more than just shampoo and conditioner?!). However, after just the first time using this as a leave in mask I noticed a major positive difference. Obviously my hair needed that hydration boost! It made my hair look thicker and fuller while still doing the job of a conditioner and getting rid of tangles. I touched my hair a lot on the days after using this!

…★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5 out of 5 stars.Jillian T.· 8 years agoThis is such a great product! \nI received this product as part of the supercrew trial pack. The product claims to be multifunctional. Worked as a leave in conditioner, styling cream for intense wash-out hair treatment. I personally don't think it has much hold to be a styling cream, but as a wash out treatment mask, this product is amazing!\nThe product is of a thick cream consistency, smells beautiful with a hint of coconut, but not too strong. I have fine hair this product moisturised my hair without weighing it down!\nI am kinda a snob when it comes to hair products and usually uses Kerastase. However I really think this is one of the best hair mask I have ever used! Highly recommended!\n

I can’t believe these other reviews! I will get my magnifying lens and find out why this seemingly good product literally makes my hair dry and straw like. Since I’m looking for the exact opposite, this is a big disappointment.
Tried it on dry hair - awful. Crunchy hair.
Tried it as a blow drying protectant - possibly works but it’s not helping to hydrate or smooth.
Tried it after it’s wet and when my hair dries it feels awful.Im not sure what else to do to make this work but I’m probably going to throw it out as it must hace something in it other than coconut and something to make it a cream. It dries hair... surprising and problematic given most people will be looking for the opposite.

I wash my hair twice a week and so have been using this after shampoo and leaving in for approximately 5-10 minutes. I have used it for a month or so and cant say I've noticed a huge amount of difference in my hair. I definitely wouldn't say its anything 'extraordinary' \nI do notice afterward my hair is shiny and smells so nice, but it has not helped with any of my frizziness. I'll use this until it runs out and unfortunately am still on the hunt for my HG hair mask.

I apply the hair mask to my hair for about 10 minutes before my shower and then rinse off in the shower. My hair feels really soft and smooth and shiny and it still looks great after a couple of days. It didn't leave my hair oily and also made it easier to brush out any tangles in my hair. After using this hair mask regularly for a few weeks, I have definitely noticed an improvement in the texture of my hair. It looks and feels more hydrated and healthy.\n

I’ve spent so much money on high end treatments with no results. I decided to give this a go after seeing it while doing my weekly groceries and I’m so glad I did! It smells like a tropical holiday and left my hair feeling soft, smooth and looking shiny! I used to be skeptical of getting results from cheaper masks but I’m not anymore! A little bit goes a long way and one tub lasts me ages on my shoulder length hair. Definitely worth a try!

I leave for 5-10 minutes and simply rinse out.\n\nI absolutely love that it restores my hair back up to its full OMMPHH, with hydration and shine. \nI like that it doesn't weigh my hair down and really keeps my hair moisturised between washes. This product also leaves a longlasting scent through your hair which is a definite bonus too.

…★★★★★ ★★★★★ 4 out of 5 stars.Joahanna Therese· 8 years agoI would like to start of with a little rant about how amazingly priced this is for the amount of product you get and also how this has become my new favourite smell. You feel like you have been transported to a little tropical island. The product has a thick consistency which makes it easy to apply as it doesn’t go everywhere. I like to apply this to wet hair and about a medium sized blob on my fingers. I comb this through my ends to prevent the friz and keep those hairs hydrated especially in the heat. You get instant results from applying it as it adds some extra shine. I’d recommend this for people who want a well priced product that actually works to maintain your hair and retain its moisture and shine. Ps- don’t be alarmed by the white product because there is so residue left behind!

However, this product has changed my mind! \nFirstly, the coconut scent is gorgeous and stays on the hair after washing with a subtle fragrance. I also have dry hair that never seems to get enough hydration, so it was actually a little shocking how long my hair stayed smooth and moisturised after using this - it usually only looks and feel nice for one day after washing.\nMy hair was so easy to brush and extra soft!\n

…★★★★★ ★★★★★ 4 out of 5 stars.Jovana c.· 8 years agoOnly way I could use this mask is traditional way: as a hair mask after washing it, leaving it on for a few minutes then rinsing. Did try other recommendations, but make things worse. As a hair mask, it is just an average mask. Makes hair soft, easy to brush and smell is nice. I am huge fan of coconut scent in beauty products. This one is not too strong and it does not last, but still....great. \n\nMask is quite thick. So tried to apply it on dry hair as one of the recommendations. Hair was really bad. Impossible to brush trough, became "stiff" and when trying to brush, there was lots of tugging and breakage. So I decided not to do this any more. \n\nMy hair is quite damaged though. So this mask would work the best for normal hair. Mine is super long, fine texture, colour treated and not trimmed in ages.

…★★★★★ ★★★★★ 4 out of 5 stars.Kimberlie H.· 8 years agoFirstly, I have short, fine hair and generally struggle to find treatments that don’t weigh my hair down. I used this product in a variety of ways; as a conditioner, a leave in treatment, to help style and as a finishing product, and I ended up liking it best as a rinse-out conditioner. I did find that it weighed my hair down slightly if I used it to style or finish my hair. I also used this product on my daughter’s long curly hair in place of conditioner and it worked great to condition and smooth her hair. She loved the scent, so it made washing her hair much easier!\nI would have preferred squeeze tube packaging (particularly for use in the shower), and I did find the coconut scent a bit too strong for my liking, but otherwise it’s an effective product that would be best suited for those with thick or coarse hair.\n

But I have found my holy grail hair hydrator in this tub of creamy white goodness. It smells absolutely amazing. On many occasions I catch a whiff throughout the day and think, "My perfume is fantastic! Which one did I put on today?", before remembering that it's my hair. I've tried it as a mask, a leave in conditioning treatment and a styling aid and it's fantastic however you use it! I like to apply it to my ends in the morning to dry hair and either put it up or leave it down. It doesn't look at all greasy, smells glorious and keeps my generally flyaway hair from getting tangled in the breeze. My love for this treatment runs deep. My hat's off to L'Oreal. They do amazing hair products!

I have very thick and very straight hair, however the actual strands of hair quite thin and not at all coarse, and I found that this hair was not great at hydrating my hair. After I applied the mask I found that my hair still felt quite dry. I think especially after reading other peoples reviews) that this is not a bad product, it just may not be the best product for me and my overly thick hair. I still enjoyed the smell of the product, it left my hair smelling lovely and coconutty. I also enjoyed the texture of the product, it was nice and thick so was easy to apply to the hair. I think that if you have hair of a normal thickness you could potentially love this product as it would apply enough hydration for you!

I really love the coconut scent of this mask. It smells so so so niceeeee. The texture of this mask is very soft and creamy. I find it makes my feel smoother and more nourishing after using it. it claims that this mask won't weight your hair down but on my dry hair I do find that it can get oily the next day if I use a tad bit more of this product even when it's only on the tip of my hair (not the roots). So my tips is control the amount of product you put on, don't go overboard with this one especially if your hair get oily easily. \n\nPros:\nnice scent\nnourish and make your hair smooth\naffordable\n\nCons:\ncan get oily if you use to much -> have to be careful \n\nOverall, it's a nice product for the price. The coconut oil smell is just divine, I love the smell of the bathroom after using it. It can be used as a rinse-out mask or as a leave-in treatment, finishing balm or scalp treatment. I personally preferred using it as a rinse-out mask, in lieu of a conditioner. The consistency is very rich but easy to disperse on damp hair. \n\nAfter shampooing, I put some on my fingers and palms and applied to the mid-lengths to ends of my hair. When rinsing it out, there was no breakage and my hair felt smooth. I let it air dry without applying any treatments or oils and it was frizz free. You only need a small amount of product and it is very affordable given the quality and quantity you get.\n\nI would recommend this to those who need a pick-me-up for damaged hair. However, I suggest using this twice a week and not daily.\n

This mask is designed to be used in many ways, as a treatment, a conditioner or on dry hair to hydrate and smooth. I have very oily hair so use a few times a week in shower is perfect for me. \n\nThe mask is in a screw top jar that fits perfectly on the shelf in my shower and is easy to access with a screw top lid. The jar is oretty sturdy, I dropped it once and it didn’t even crack, great for clumsy people like me. The fragrance is a fresh coconut that isn’t too strong and doesn’t linger after rinsing. \n\nI apply a little over a twenty cent piece size to the mid lengths and ends of my hair and continue on with my shower routine, body wash, exfoliating etc etc then rinse out after about 4-5 mins. My hair is silky smooth, soft and shiny and amazingly it doesn’t add to my oily ness at all. \n\nI’ll definitely be buying this again.\n

But in saying that, I love trying new products, especially when they have such a appealing price tag, so I was very excited to trial this product from L'Oreal.\n\nI tried this product as both a wash-out mask and as a leave in treatment, and was pleasantly surprised with the performance in each instance. The product was easy to use, did not have an overwhelming smell, and did not leave any unwanted residue on the hair. \n\nIn regard to results, I found the product did improve the moisture and appearance of my hair, not as much as some more expensive products I've tried, but for the price it did perform better than expected. This time it was not a trial for me as I had the very same product in my bathroom and I had known that product very well. First of all, the hair mask is widely available and can be bought for close to nothing. And it is not a bad product. I like it. The smell is wonderful and very addictive. Just the fragrance of the mask makes me want to use it at least twice a week. I appreciate the fact that the product is so versatile and can be used as a mask, ot a conditioner or a leave-in treatment. I do doubt though that one can find 1001 uses.... \nThe formula is very creamy and thick, it seems rich too but it does not weigh my hair down. I tend to use it as a leave in treatment after I wash my hair. The hair looks more managable and a tiny bit more hydrated. I wish the mask was more nourishing though. I believe all hair types could use this product and enjoy it.\n

I had just come home from a trip where I resorted to using the hotel shampoos so my hair was in a REALLY bad state - dry ends, knots, fly aways.. you name it. I applied this all over my hair after conditioning in the shower and left it for around 3 minutes and WOW. My hair was unbelievably smooth, soft, shiny and luscious and smelt like coconuts! The next day I even got compliments on my hair and got asked if I had a haircut which is crazy. The coconut smell actually stays in your hair which is really lovely too.\n\nThe cream itself is quite thick and I use a good large dollop to cover all the ends of my hair. I found that applying this product too high up towards the roots of my hair however made my hair look quite flat so since then I concentrate this mask purely on the ends. \n\nConsidering the price point I will no doubt keep repurchasing this and using it once or twice a week in my routine.\n

I tend to favour salon brands over supermarket products because I generally find them to be more effective and of higher quality. In saying that, I was actually really surprised how nice this was to use on my fine hair. \n\nThe smell for one is lovely - I'm a sucker for coconut scents so this was right up my alley. The consistency is what I expect from this sort of product. Creamy, thick and rich. But this wasn't a problem for my fine hair like it usually is. My hair wasn't weighed down, or flattened. It worked really nice to give my hair that boost of hydration and smoothness that my ends begs for. I'm not really sure what 'extra-fine coconut oil' is. It does contain silicone, that might bother some people but I personally find silicones to work really nicely with hair. \n\nOverall, an affordable product that was pleasant to use!\n

…★★★★★ ★★★★★ 4 out of 5 stars.A K.· 8 years agoWhat I loved about this conditioner is it’s fragrance which was a yummy coconut, and that, like it says on the packaging, it made my hair incredibly shiny. I was impressed that it’s delicious scent lasted throughout the day, but why I’m not giving it 5 stars is it didn’t control all my frizz which usually dissipates with a moisturising conditioner. It certainly lived up to its claim that it didn’t weigh the hair down.\nI liked that it is packaged in a tub as I find a thicker conditioning product easier to scoop out rather than to force out of a bottle. I tried using it in different ways like leaving it on the hair longer for a nourishing treatment but for me this product worked the same when left on a short period of time. I have quite dry hair and tend to need a lot of moisture.\nOverall I am impressed with this conditioner as it lives up to its claims and I would highly recommend it to someone that has normal to slightly dry hair and wants mirror like shine without an oily residue.\n

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never write reviews but I had to with this product. I really thought buying this product would leave my hair super soft and conditioned. It smells nice, however I was very disappointed as it left my hair really dry and brittle, and straw like!! It made my hair feel like the moisture had been sucked right out of it!! (I have naturally fine, soft, wavy hair).
I had used the product in my hair about 24 hours before my hairdressing appointment and my hairdresser (who knows my hair well) asked me wtf I had put in my hair, as it "felt super dry and siliconey". I told her it was this product, and she told me to THROW IT OUT and never use it again as it is doing the opposite of hydrating!!
It is not a good hair mask at all, super gimmicky, do NOT trust the label at all, this has put me off a lot of L'oreal hair products now.
I'm shocked at the amount of good reviews this has, please please please get something else that's more worthwhile as I don't want anyone to make the same mistake I did :)

The wide mouth of the jar makes it easy to scoop out the right amount of the thick hair mask. \n\nThe mask is a thick, white conditioner consistency with a very strong coconut scent. If you're into coconut scents, you'll love this one! The hair mask is infused with coconut oil to condition and nourish hair strands as an overnight mask, in the shower mask or as a leave-in conditioner afterwards. \n\nI love that the conditioner nourishes and conditions my hair without weighing it down. It revives tired, lifeless strands by taming frizz and giving it a smoother, glosser finish. Brushing my hair is also easier with less knots to comb out as the conditioner helps detangle hair. \n\nOverall, I enjoy masking with this but do feel the coconut scent is a tad strong for me. I could smell the scent on my hair on day 3 hair which is unusual. But yea, if you're a coconut scent lover, you'll probably enjoy this! \n

First of all as soon as I opened the lid from the generous tub I noticed the smell. It smells of coconut, so delicious and the mask itself is smooth and creamy. I applied this to my scalp and ends and left it overnight. After shampooing in the morning my hair was much more manageable and easy to style and was super shiny. So this product is great for those with thick hair, it’s intensely nourishing and moisturising. I also applied it before going to the beach for hair protection and it’s super effective. I also trialled a small amount after styling to tame frizz and flyaways and that worked too, so a great multi purpose mask, I love a multi purpose product. After trying the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Coconut Hair Mask I must say it works beautifully for my hair type. The hair mask has a thick cream texture and I apply it all over hair after shampoo and leave it on for 5 minutes then rinse out. After rinsing out the mask my hair super smooth and when I run my fingers through my hair, my hair de-tangles which is amazing. My hair looks smooth and silky for at least 3 days. However, my sister with normal to oily hair also tried this product and she didn't like it so much because this mask was too nourishing for her so I recommend this product for people with dry to normal hair type. \nThe con for this product is the packaging. The hair mask is in a tub and doesn't come with a spatula so I have to use my hand to get the product out which is very inconvenient, especially using it in shower where water can get into the product. \n

Coconut oil is such an amazing moisturising and protecting ingredient for hair of all types, so I’m really happy to see an easily accessible hair mask from L’Oreal featuring it! \n\nThe texture of the hair mask is creamy yet light, and it is very easy to spread through my hair. The light texture also makes it super easy to spread through my roots and massage it into my scalp - I find that thicker/heavier hair masks are really hard to distribute evenly through my roots.\n\nI left it on for the recommended time, and after rinsing, my hair felt super moisturised. After drying, my hair felt soft and nourished. My only complaint is that it left my roots greasy and weighed down. I have thin hair so greasy roots look shocking on me. In the future I will just use it on my ends. Another thing to note is that while the scent is lovely, it is very very strong! So perhaps if you are pregnant avoid this product as the scent may be overwhelming for you.\n

They work quite well with my hair so I was really happy to try this hair mask out. Since I usually prefer products that are not heavily scented, this one smells a little too strong of coconut in the tub. It has a creamy consistency & spreads easily on wet hair. I use it as a conditioner/hair mask and I love the results! I have oily scalp and roots with dry ends, so I always apply the mask on my hair ends. I notice that if I apply it too close to my roots, it makes my roots oily faster & makes my hair flatter too. A little goes a long long way & my dry ends love it! My hair becomes silky soft after rinsing it with a faint fragrance lingering around. It doesn't weigh down my hair so I still get the volume. I prefer to use hair oils for leave in treatments so I didn't use this for that purpose. However, since I only need a little each time, it'll last me a long time. If you are looking for an affordable & good quality hair mask, definitely try it out!

It has a fairly strong creamy coconut fragrance that is strongest when you apply it, however I felt after I washed it out it didn’t really linger. I used this as a treatment while in the shower- I shampooed my hair and then squeezed out the excess water and then applied it. You don’t need a whole lot either- so it’s quite economical. I have quite dry hair and it is the worst to brush out after washing, but I found that the mask helped to alleviate this. I also used it as a leave in treatment after washing to help detangle my hair before I brushed it. I did find that I didn’t get as long out of my wash and needed to reach for the dry shampoo a bit earlier than I normally would, but it is a nourishing product and this is to be expected. If you have dry hair or want to give your hair a little boost I would definitely give this a try, it’s very affordable and really requires little to no effort to use. It left my hair feeling smooth and looked nice and shiny too, would definitely recommend.

…★★★★★ ★★★★★ 3 out of 5 stars.Leah P.· 8 years agoI was given the opportunity to use the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Coconut Hair Mask.recently, and I have to say, I wasn't completely blown away by it. In a nutshell, this product is one that is meant to have multiple uses. You're supposed to be able to use it as a conditioner, hair mask, a pre-treatment shampoo, and, icing on the cake, it's also possible to be used as a leave in product. Sounds a little too good to be true? It's sadly the case for my hair.\n\nMy hair is a straight, Asian, and thick - using this as a conditioner, it works really well. I do love how soft this leaves my hair then. When I used this as a mask, I found that left my hair feeling flatter than I would have expected - not ideal, as I love having a bit of body to my hair. The leave-in conditioner bit is my least favourite, unfortunately, because that really does make my hair feel too heavy. I like that this does come in a jar, so that you can control the amount of product that you get out. \n\nOverall, I do like how this works, but I can't use it to the fullest extent of what it's meant for, unfortunately.\n

…★★★★★ ★★★★★ 1 out of 5 stars.Pru Oswin· 8 years agoReally not sold on this and I really wanted to be. Ugh. I am still on the hunt for the ultimate hydrating products for my hair. I have curly, thick, colour treated hair which is a little prone to dryness. This product looked like a miracle in a jar. There were so many uses - on dry hair, as a mask on dry hair, as a mask on wet hair, leave in conditioner - just to name a few. I was excited to use it! I first used it on my wet hair post shampoo for about 20 mins for a deep treatment. Did not notice much difference. My other conditioning treatment was WAY above this. hair still felt dry. I tried it as a pre-wash on dry hair as directed.....WOW. My hair was an absolute tangled mess. I washed it out and no results......my hair was no different from pre-wash. I used it as a leave in conditioner and to smooth fly aways. All it did was create a gunky feeling in my hair. \nThe smell was amazing though. My husband complimented it when i had it in. That is a plus. I can't recommend this product. I felt for something that was supposed to be uber hydrating it did nothing for my curly, colour treated hair. Not a fan. \n

…★★★★★ ★★★★★ 4 out of 5 stars.Ellie L.· 8 years agoThe Loreal extraordinary oil coconut hair mask is a wonderful addition to your haircare routine and I have really enjoyed using this product. I don't use hair masks often but this product helped me realise that I should! My hair is quite dry and is curly so I need products that will hydrate my hair or else it will be a frizzy mess. The product smells just like coconuts which is one of my favourite scents and the mask itself is very creamy and moisturising. I would take a scoop of the product from the jar and apply it all over my hair. I found that you could use it as a conditioner and just work it through your hair and then rinse or you could make it an intense mask by leaving it on for 5-10 minutes. My hair would feel soft and manageable once I washed it out. I take a body shower everyday but because my hair is very dry I only take hair showers 2-3 times a week. This hair mask would leave my hair looking and feeling great until my next shower. It wouldn't weigh my hair down and when I would style my hair it would end up looking so much better. There was less frizz and brushing my hair would be so much easier.

…★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5 out of 5 stars.May M.· 8 years agoI have absolutely loved using this hair mask and I ended up using this as a replacement for my regular conditioner. The hair mask contains coconut oil and has a rich, creamy consistency. It comes in a round tub which is easy to use and allows you to control how much product you want. My hair is on the normal side but I do want a product that will condition and protect my hair while also untangling any knots. I applied the creamy hair mask onto the middle and ends of my hair and left it on for several minutes. You could use it on dry hair before your shower or on damp hair during your shower. I liked to use it during my shower as I found it easier to apply when my hair was wet. After leaving it on for 5 minutes or so I would rinse it off and my hair would feel amazing! Super soft, super smooth and I could run my fingers through my hair. I also loved the coconut scent. It didn't smell too artificial and the fragrance would still linger even after I had blow dried and straightened my hair. It helped moisturise my hair without weighing it down or leaving any residue behind. I like to use this several times a week and it would work well for all hair types!

…★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5 out of 5 stars.Sarah L.· 8 years agoWell this mask surprised me by being pretty awesome. I was sceptical about using it at first. Thought it would’ve been a bit of a fad product, but I’m happy and willing to admit boy was I wrong.\nFirstly how good does this mask smell. It’s not sickly at all and doesn’t smell like your putting an obscene amount of chemicals in your hair. The scent is a big tick ✔️ for me.\nThe next ✔️ for me is the information on the jar. Not only can this be used as a mask after conditioning, worn over night or as a conditioner itself but as a pre shampooing mask. This has now become my favourite way to do a hair mask. My hair doesn’t feel weighty after I get out of the shower, like I may not have got all the mask out, but soft, shiny and weightless.\nThe first time I used it this way was on a Monday , I then straightened my hair and I kid you not did not wash my hair until the Saturday night and only needed to reach for the dry shampoo on the Friday. My hair was still shiny, soft, by no means greasy at all. I even had a co worker shocked when I said how long it had been.\nThe only part I don’t get is the 1001 uses.\nWill I repurchase this = most definitely. Plus it’s super affordable which makes it even better.\n

…★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5 out of 5 stars.Dee D.· 8 years agoI love L’Oreal hair products they are a great price and I have found they are on par with the many high end products I have tried.\nI was excited to try this mask as I have long coloured hair that tends to frizz all year round.\nI loved the generous pot and on opening the scent was gorgeous, I love coconut it reminds me of summer holidays. \nThe mask is easy to scoop out and I applied generously then combed through to the ends and left on all day under my plastic shower cap.\nThe oil/cream felt silky and moisturising and coated my hair with a rehydrating softening mask.\nWhen I washed the mask out and while drying I was impressed, no knots,no fly-aways just a silk curtain of hair that smelt heavenly. I travel to Bali a lot and I can see myself combing this through my hair and chilling by the pool while this mask does its magic.\nRubbing a little of the mask through my fingertips and gently smoothing my dry hair between washes gave a great result keeping any frizz settled and also another shot of the delicious scent. I love a versatile multi function product and it is a real bonus at this price.\nI will buy this product again and it would be great if it came out in a tube for travel or touch-ups through the day when out.\n\n
