Innovation

Apply True Match Minerals with the Infallible Accessories Wide Powder Brush. Press the brush into the mineral foundation and swirl around to pick up the foundation. Tap away the excess and apply to skin until you've reached desired coverage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Where's the brush I have been using this mineral makeup for years and loved it until now. I went away for the weekend with a new container only to open it and find no brush. I didn't have one and spent ages and a lot of wastage trying to apply with my fingers and tissues. Why would you change what was a great little package. It was compact and all in one. Easy to pop in my handbag. Not sure who is in your design team but obviously they have no idea. You may have saved a few cents by deleting the brush but you have lost a loyal customer. I am now looking for a different brand

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible re-design of a previously great product. Not sure why, but on the redesign of this product someone decided it was a great idea to remove the brush and keep the price the same. Now not only do you have to buy a seperate brush, but it means carrying around two products instead of one, for an additional cost. Also there's now only one lid (instead of the previous two - one for the brush and one for the powder) so there's now a greater chance of spilling the powder. everywhere.

How To:
Find The Perfect Foundation Shade

Like great buildings, great makeup begins with a solid foundation. So what’s the best way to ensure you’re using the right shade?

The right foundation should match your skin’s undertone. ‘Undertone’ refers to the colours under the surface of your skin and can be warm, cool and neutral.

Warm– think yellow, peachy, and golden.

Cool– think red, pink, and bluish.

Neutral– think olive or a mix of those above.

How to determine your undertone

Take a good look at the veins on your wrist for an easy way to determine your undertone. If your veins look green, it’s likely you have warm undertones; if they’re blue/purple, you have cool undertones. If the veins are colourless or match your skin colour, you most likely have neutral undertones.

How does your skin react to the sun?

First things first, always wear sunscreen. Nevertheless, how your skin reacts to UV can also be a big indicator to your undertone. Those who burn easily likely have cool undertones; those who tan without burning may have warm undertones.

I’ve discovered my undertone, now what?

Once you’ve discovered your undertone, finding your true match foundation shade will get a whole lot easier! Here’s a helpful guide to what to look for when foundation hunting:

Warm shades are often named beige, golden, tan, caramel, and chestnut.

Cool shades are often labelled porcelain, rose, sable, cocoa.

Neutral shades are often referred to as ivory, buff, nude, and praline.

How To: Clean Your Makeup Brushes

FUN FACT: Experts recommend cleaning makeup brushes weekly to avoid nasty build-up of breakout-causing bacteria. Can’t remember the last time you gave your brushes a little TLC? Don't panic! These five quick and easy tips will get you into the routine.

Step One: Wet Your Brushes
Wet brushes with lukewarm water, making sure they’re soaked all the way through.

Step Two: Shampoo
Place a small amount (about the size of a 5c piece) of shampoo into the palm of your hands.

Step Three: Massage
Gently swirl the bristles into the palm of your hand, ensuring you massage the shampoo right through the brush head.

Step Four: Rinse and Squeeze
Rinse under lukewarm water, using your fingers to separate the bristles, until water runs clear. If it’s been a while between cleans, you may need to repeat step two and three again. Once clean, use a towel to squeeze out any excess moisture.

Step Five: Reshape and Dry
Use the towel and your fingers to gently reshape your brushes, then leave to air dry.

Concealer:
The Not So Secret Hero

If our makeup bag was to have a hero, the concealer would be wearing the cape. Whether we have dark circles under the eyes from lack of sleep, stress or dehydration or our skin is having one of those days/weeks/even years, where blemishes are popping up: concealer always saves the day. Especially when that concealer is the new L’Oreal Paris Infallible Concealer Pomade.

Never used a concealer pomade before? Here’s some handy tips you wish you knew earlier.

-To get the most out of your concealer it’s best to use your fingers. This helps heat and melt the concealer into your skin for a more blended and flawless finish. If fingers aren’t you style, apply a small amount of concealer onto the back of your hands, and rub with your small makeup brush or blender to create some warmth before applying.

-An effective way to neutralise your dark circles or spots is by applying the peach shade first, then follow with another shade that’s close to your skin tone to finish your base.

-Concealer also works wonders in defining your brows. Simply apply beneath your brows after you’ve filled them, to help define and tidy.
