Eye Wrinkles: How to Reduce Under-Eye Wrinkles and Crow’s Feet

As we get older, our eyes begin to show signs of ageing. Eye wrinkles, fine lines, and crow’s feet around the eyes are completely normal, but there are ways to manage them and reduce their appearance for a brighter, more youthful appearance.

If you want to understand the cause of eye wrinkles, and how you can manage them, read our guide below for the ultimate eye wrinkle treatment.

Causes of eye wrinkles

Eye wrinkles can have several different causes – we’ll go into the most common ones here, as well as offering some ways to reduce their appearance.

Dryness

If the skin around your eyes is dry, this can amplify fine lines and wrinkles. Fortunately, a moisturising eye cream or a serum can improve hydration and plump the skin, minimising the appearance of lines around the eyes including crow’s feet and under-eye wrinkles.

UV damage from the sun

The sun’s ultraviolet rays can damage the collagen in your skin, leading to a loss of plumpness and the likelihood of early wrinkles. To reduce wrinkles under eyes and crow’s feet forming prematurely, it’s best to wear an SPF to protect your skin – even on cloudy days!

Thinner Skin

The skin around your eyes is thinner than the rest of the skin on your face, with plenty of blood below the skin’s surface. As a result, the skin here will start to age earlier – you’re likely to notice lines and wrinkles around the eyes earlier than you might elsewhere on your face.

Time

As we age, the skin loses elasticity and cell renewal slows down. It’s no different around the eyes! This is all part of the ageing process, but we can manage it with the right skincare routine to reduce crow’s feet and an effective product regime for under-eye wrinkle treatment.

Protect against further sun damage with the L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Filler SPF15 Day Cream

With the Revitalift Filler SPF15 Day Cream, you can protect your skin from the sun and prolong its bounce! This day cream is enriched with our new Micro-Filler Hyaluronic Acid to fill lines, restore volume and re-plump skin. Cleanse gently with the L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Filler Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser

It’s important to be gentle on your eye area, as the thinner skin needs delicate care. When removing makeup, it might be tempting to rub and scrub the area, but this can exacerbate wrinkles so it’s best to be avoided. Instead, massage the face delicately when cleansing to avoid further damage. The Revitalift Filler Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser’s gel formula features hyaluronic acid which is a powerful skin care ingredient with deep hydrating properties to restore plumpness to the skin. In just one use, this gel face wash leaves the skin deeply cleansed, hydrated and smooth.
