Men Expert Hydra Energetic 10% Pure Vitamin C Serum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Vitamin C is known for its antioxidant properties, which can help brighten the skin and promote a more even skin tone. L'Oreals mens Vitamin C serum is just the product I was looking for. It was very easy to apply as it comes with a pipette to draw the serum and only release the required quantity in my palm to then apply evenly on my face. A clean shave, aftershave balm and then serum to brighten my skin. It has an orange fragrance which is not overpowering and hydrates the skin. The serum is very thick and sometimes difficult to get it out of the pipette. Quickly absorbed by the skin and I feel my skin has improved.

I have sensitive skin on my face and have been limited for years with what I can and can't use. This was a game changer. I have been using morning and night for a week but even after the first day or two I could feel and see a noticeable difference to my skin. Using at night means I wake up with soft, clear skin ready to start the day. Its not greasy or oily and absorbs really quick. I have been using a general moisturiser after applying this and my skin has never felt better. I'm keen to try the other products in the range and I can finally have a skin routine that works for men with sensitive skin.

Although I can't see any noticeable changes yet in terms of brightening, I don't think it's a bad product and it definitely makes your skin feel moist.
The serum applies more like a lotion and I do think you need to use more of it compared with other Vitamin C serums I have used.
It is hydrating and it makes your face feel nice and smooth, but I wasn't a fan of how heavily fragranced it was.
At $30, or $15 on sale, it might be good for someone new to serums/skincare.

I’m not really a person who normally uses these products, I tried it and found it pretty good, I work outside and have wrinkled up as I’ve gotten older. It left my skin nice and smooth and had a nice smell to it. Over the week I had no reaction to it and was happy with the results. If it was on my vanity I would use it as it’s convenient to put on quickly and didn’t feel greasy, next time I’m in the supermarket I might give it another go and that’s saying I liked it.

As for the serum itself it absorbs quite quickly into the skin without any greasy residue which is great and while i havent noticed any significant changes to my skin it does leave it feeling fresh and smelling nice as the serum has a refreshing scent. Overall its a nice little addition to my face routine.

As a man, apart from putting moisturiser on my face on a semi-regular basis, I’ve never really bothered too much with any set skin care routine. However, I’m getting on a bit now and decided to take more pride in my skin, which I should have done long ago really. I've been testing this product for seven days and it does seem to brighten my skin. My face felt smoother and softer after use. This seems like a good serum with a really nice smell to it. Only a tiny amount is need, it is super easy to apply and absorbs really well into the skin leaving no stickiness. I did not use according to directions though which were use cleanser first, then serum, then moisturiser, so I may have gotten a better result than I did (didn’t use moisturiser). But I will keep using the serum to see how my face looks and feels over a longer period of time.

I have used moisturiser before but never a serum, mainly because I thought moisturiser was enough and I didn’t want a heavy feeling on my face, I was totally wrong thinking that way.

After receiving the serum I read the instructions and followed them to the letter, this included cleansing the face, applying the serum and finally a moisturiser. On my first use of the serum (only 3 drops) I noticed it felt very light on the skin and all absorbed very quickly. It wasn’t thick and the smell was a masculine smell similar to men’s deodorant or aftershave. It was very easy to apply and I certainly will be continuing to use it because it also gave me results in only a week.

My face appears smoother and more firmer. I compared before and after photos and it shows a difference. I highly recommend men give it a try and remember a little goes a long way.

I really appreciate the lightweight and non-greasy formula as product absorbs into the skin well. 3 drops are enough to cover whole face. After few weeks of using this product my face has noticeable healthy glow and my skin feels more hydrated and prepared for next skincare steps. Good quality product for everyday use, really helps to revitalise tired and dull skin when you have a lack of sleep or more stressful time. I recommended this product to my friends

And I have to say in my opinion it did! I've been using the product for the past 2 weeks (twice daily) and have definitely noticed a difference with my skin. My face looks brighter and feels softer to the touch. The serum even works through my beard stubble too with no residue left over. My skin can be a little sensitive at times, but I had no reaction to the product which is fantastic.

It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight, which I’ve had from other serums. I think my skin may be slightly smoother but the biggest thing for me was the colour it gave me. It really made my skin look brighter and less dull, like I’d had a little bit of sun. Which I absolutely haven’t lately!!
My only negative comments are on the dropper in the bottle. Sometimes you squeeze it and it fills up the whole dropper, but other times I was there for ages, trying to suck up enough serum!

It is a smooth Serum, applied with dropper to your hands and then your face. It makes the skin feel instantly smoother and retains that look for hours. The Serum is quite thick, so cannot run. It would be great, however, if the bottle were clear, so you could see how much is left in the bottle.

As a typical male that doesn't usually use any hydration or moisturiser on his face, testing this product was a first for me. It is very easy to apply as part of your morning routine and leaves your skin feeling soothed especially after shaving.
After a few day's I can see and feel my skin is more hydrated, softer. It doesn't feel oily or leave a oily residue on the skin.

This includes absorbing into the skin below my stubble facial hair. After a few days of use skin feels brighter and smoother. This product has a nice masculine fragrance which thankfully, is not an orange scent unlike quite a few Vitamin C serums out there. Only negatives are that the product contains alcohol but this did not cause any skin irritation, it is unclear whether the product is vegetarian and the thick consistency of the product before applying makes it is quite difficult to dispense using the pipette. However, overall this is a high quality product that did have a noticeable effect on my skin.

After cleaning my skin, I applied the shot before sun cream regularly. My skin has been so much smoother and it glows which gets people’s attention. Having said that I don’t think this serum is for beginners or people with sensitive skin. It’s 10% and very active so it may cause redness and irritation. Knowing your skin and how much it can tolerate is the key. Please test it before applying it all around your face. I have also combined it with L’Oréal Revitalift Clinical Suncream with Vitamin C for extra protection. Overall, I am very happy with the results.

The product meets my expectation with moisturising my face and the smell of the serum is great. So far I have tested the product for 7 days, I notice slight change on my dark spots. The usage instructions state to put 3 drops in your hand. Personally, this is not enough! As soon as you rub your hands together in preparation of applying to your face, it has all soaked into your hands! I feel you need more than stated. I apply directly to the face in 3 spots (cheeks and forehead) and then rub in.
It's easy to apply and soaks in well, leaves your skin feeling refreshed. You can then apply moisturiser over the top.
After some time testing, it appears my skin has a good glow about and feels soft to the touch.

I was expecting something a lot thinner. But as soon as I put it on my skin it spread and soaked in so easily. It was so easy and quick to apply.

Firstly it has a refreshingly subtle aroma, not overpowering in any way but you can smell it, like a fresh citrus smell. With a few drops in the palm of your hand you can then easily work the serum into your face. It absorbs really easily and almost instantly makes your skin feel clean and tight, with absolutely zero greasy feel. After using for just over a week now my skin feels so much better. My one discrepancy is ive had to use a little more than directed to get coverage on my face a neck, i needed 3 drops for my face and another 2 for my neck therefore it may not last as long as expected, but it leaves you feeling really good so its worth it.

Loved the fact that it can be rubbed into my beard as well, which means it doesn't clog up like other creams can do. My skin feels very nice and feels hydrated, even had comments from other people/colleagues saying how nice my skin looks. The reason for only giving 4 stars is that it says to use the serum at night too, so I did, and I think it may have left a yellowish stain on my white pillow covers. I haven't changed anything else in terms of routine or products used , so my guess is that it's the serum. 100% will carry on using it just won't apply it too late in the evening just before going to bed.
