THAT’S WHAT WE CALL EXCELLENCE !
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible new gloves !!! I buy this product every month to die my hair at home . The gloves normally are really good, made of rubber and make the application easy. Yesterday I found out you guys have new gloves , they are not only plain plastic but they are a small size, and they are terrible! I took me 15 minutes just to put them on because they stick to the skin plus the size is small and I'm a large size. After all this effort they ripped off and all the product came inside and touched with my skin, I was so frustrating! I ended up taking them off completely. I really hope the rubber gloves come back, otherwise I will really have to think about moving to a different brand. Thanks

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ineffective I have medium to light brown hair, followed all the directions and the result was barely noticeable even after leaving it on for 45 minutes. Very disappointed. The gloves were fine as was the conditioner, just the colour itself didn't lighten the hair at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coverage on white grey hair I used this product every 6 weeks on my hair, irks wonders to cover up white/Grey hair

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The balm I love the results this colour gives but the balm bottle is very hard to get=t all the cream out of I feel that if you used the same tube that the colour cream was in then this would make for easier application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the best color i have done at home from a box I used this yesterday, I wrap my head in foil or plastic to heat up the product, well my grey roots were so well covered and the color came out perfect

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great colour, terrible gloves I have been using L'Oréal Excellence for over 20 years and always loved the result, however the new gloves are absolutely useless. They are too narrow and split easily, getting the product on your skin. They are so difficult to put on and are impossible to remove and put back on if you are re-colouring your hair in two steps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but plastic gloves too small I have been purchasing this particular produce for some time and the last three boxes have remained true top in my books EXCEPRT for the size of the plastic gloves....they are so small. I have only small hands and struggle to get the gloves to pull on and fit right to the fingers. Perhaps you should investigate making these gloves larger so they can fit all hands and not just tiny, tiny child like hands. Thank you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Gloves are terrible I used Golden Blonde 8.3 and the colour was fine. However the gloves were extremely difficult to use. I found the fingers too tight, a battle to get on in the first place and impossible to put back on for the second application. I have average size hands, and glove size has never been a problem before.

Casting Creme Gloss
Q And A

See the answers to questions that the public have asked to help alleviate your first time colouring fears.

Is this product applied to wet or dry hair?
To use this product, wet your hair without washing it and towel dry thoroughly.

Do I shampoo when removing this colour?
No, to remove we advise you add a little lukewarm water and massage thoroughly into the hair. Thoroughly rinse until the water runs clear and apply a generous amount of the shine enhancing conditioner with royal jelly.

Can you use Casting Crème Gloss on previously coloured hair?
Yes you can.

How often can I use this product?
We recommend leaving at least 6 weeks in between colour applications. On your next application you should follow Method 2 for previously coloured hair.

I want to radically change my hair colour, can I use Casting Crème Gloss?
Casting Crème Gloss is designed to enhance natural hair colour rather than to dramatically lighten or darken your hair. If the colour applied is darker than your natural hair colour, new growth at the root will appear more pronounced.

How long does this colour last?
Casting Crème Gloss will gradually fade from your hair. However, results can vary depending on your hair history and condition.

Does it contain ammonia?
Casting Crème Gloss does not contain ammonia.

I have just permed my hair, when can I apply Casting Creme Gloss?
We recommend you wait at least two weeks after using a relaxer, a perm or a straightening process on the hair before applying Casting Crème Gloss. We advise you perform a strand test before colouring your hair as perms and relaxers can leave hair more porous. Porous hair can cause colour to be absorbed faster.

I have long hair, how many boxes of Casting Crème Gloss will I need?
If your hair is below shoulder length or very thick, you may need two boxes to ensure even application.

What is the development time of Casting Crème Gloss?
Always follow the instruction leaflet. The development time for each shade is explained here. Casting Crème Gloss has a development time of 20 minutes. If you require extra coverage of grey hairs add an extra 5 minutes. Start timing as soon as you've finished applying the colour.

If you are refreshing your existing colour or if your hair has been coloured less than 3 months ago, apply to your roots and leave for 15 minutes. Then apply the remaining mixture through the lengths, massage in and leave to develop for a further 5 minutes.

How do I protect my colour from fading?
We recommend you should use Elvive Colour Protect shampoo and conditioner, which is formulated to specifically meet the needs of colour treated hair.

DIY Tutorial:
Easy Ombre Hair

Want to change up your hair colour look? It's easy! This simple video will show you how.
To achieve this look Domenica used Preference Wild Ombres Shade 2 Dark Blonde To Brown. Following the package instructions carefully, Domenica mixes the three ingredients together.
She shakes the bottle side to side to make sure its all combined.

Domenica parts hair where she normally would wear it (you should do the same), then sections the hair into manageable layers. She the puts the gloves on her hands, and applies the product directly to her hair, beginning at the bottom and working her way up, ensuring to blend and work the product through her hair.

Domenica uses an old towel to wipe her hands between sections so that product application stays seamless! Domenica also applies the product to the Expert Brush, running the product through the ends of her hair.

Domenica’s expert tip is use the Expert comb to ‘back-comb’ the product at the mid-lengths to achieve a seamless transition from light to dark!
