Rated 5 out of 5 by from This potion is my favourite product from this particular line. I have fine, fragile hair, and this entire range just makes my hair feel like I'm giving it a bit of extra attention and TLC. This particular product is like the cherry on top! After washing and conditioning my hair, I apply a few drops (I found around 10 were ideal for my hair) to my palm, rub it and work it through my strands. It's like the grand finale, giving my hair an extra element of care and protection with this leave in treatment. As with conditioner and mask, this product is not greasy at all, which I LOVE. The scent is earthy and subtle. 5 out of 5 for this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Strength Potion is a standout in the range and acts as a leave in conditioner. It is a very light, liquid serum and does not weigh hair down.  It comes in an easy to use bottle with a dropper applicator. I apply 5 drops to towel dried hair (my hair is mid length) and I focus application on the lengths and ends. I then comb through and blowdry as per normal. Using this product as the last step in the Coriander Botanicals range, makes a huge difference to the way my hair looks and feels. This leaves my hair noticeably more smooth, shiny and frizz free and with regular use has improved the condition of my hair!\n

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This smells great and comes in lovely packaging like the rest of the coriander range. The reason why I am rating ut lower than everything else in the range is because it feels like I am just putting a watery, milky (cloudy) looking liquid in my hair. I am not sure how else to describe it apart from it really doesn't feel any different. The potion itself doesn't feel at all oily, it has a 'nothing' feel. Ok, it feels like freshly scented herbal water. Perhaps I am just ignorant when it comes to hair 'potions' and am used to leave in treatments that have an oil or cream base. I can't get over the watery consistency and for me, my hair honestly feels no different after using this potion.\n\n

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My hair is thin, curly and if I don't take care of it it's very frizzy/prone to split ends. I usually use quality products from brands like Aveda to maintain the frizz etc. I recently decided to try this little potion because I could see that the ingredients were good and I've always wanted to strengthen my fragile hair. I've only used it several times and wow! For this price, I'm very pleased that my hair is way less frizzy and yes, it certainly feels stronger! I even went outside on a cold, wet day and my hair didn't turn into a frizz ball. I definitely recommend this for fragile hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Okay I won't lie at first I had my doubts about this product as I usually only use morrocon oil on the ends of my hair but I was excited to give it a go. \n\nFirst impressions were the smell of the product, it had such a nice aroma to it. The texture is light and it goes on so nicely on towel dried hair. After I blow dried my hair you couldn't even notice or feel that there was anything in the ends of my hair but wow it was so soft and well my hair smelt great!! I will continue to use this product and will defiantly be recommending it to friends and family.\n

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No idea how to use Just bought this product only to find there are no directions for use in English on the pack. In 3 other languages I gathered there was a 3 minute element but wet or dry hair / before or after washing/ how much to use or how often is nowhere to be found?? Had to look it up on website to see how to use . This is poor marketing and poor customer service from a large multinational. I can't really judge the product as I haven't used it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from After trialling this product for a week, I can say it is a great product however I am not in love with this product. The packaging is good however the consistency is very watery. I have used the applicator and applied to my ends, however I don't feel as though it makes the hair soft. It definitely has helped to strengthen my hair, however I felt like I needed to use quite a bit for it to do a lot to my hair. In this case, I could take or leave this product and instead use something with a bit more hold or shine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I kindly recieved the strength potion to trial from L'Oréal and beauty crew.\nThis serum type product is designed to be used in the ends of your hair to help nourish.\nI have used this in damp hair after shampoo and conditioner and also on dry hair for maintenance.\nAfter smoothing through my ends at times I also smooth a drop over my roots which helps eliminate some frizz.\nOverall I have been really impressed with the entire L'Oréal Botanicals Range, my hair looks and feels really healthy.\n

Top 5 ways To Use A Hair Oil

Not sure how to handle hair oils? Don’t worry, we'll show you how to use them—even on fine hair.

HOW TO USE HAIR OIL

1. PRE-SHAMPOO TREATMENT
Our tresses go through a lot on a daily basis— everything from hot water to straightening can leave hair feeling brittle and parched. Try using hair oil as a pre-shampoo prep. Moisturising the strands before washing will help it retain its natural oils. Just add an extra step of applying hair oil before you shower and follow with shampoo and conditioner as usual. We promise, you’ll see the difference.

2. LIGHTWEIGHT SHINE
When you have fine hair, it’s easy to tip over into heavy handed territory with styling products. Unfortunately, doing so weighs hair down and gives it an overly oily sheen. Instead of piling on the products, apply a coin-sized amount of hair oil onto dry ends, steering clear of your roots. This way, you can enjoy silky shine without the added weight.

3. BLOWOUT PREP
It’s hard to get your at-home blowouts to match salon styled waves. While it may well be because the hairdryer is a finicky tool to master, there are other secret tricks of the trade to elevate your DIY look. The easiest hack is to add hair oil into the mix (and a heat protectant). Apply to damp hair and blow-dry with a round brush. Finish with a spritz of lightweight hair spray to lock in that smooth shine!

4. TAME FRIZZ
If you’re a victim of hat hair or the dreaded humid hair poof, you’re definitely not alone. Unruly hair plagues us all from time to time, but thankfully hair oil can help tame frizz and flyaways. Rub one to two pumps of hair oil between your palms, running it through the lengths of your hair. Once you only have a tiny amount left, smooth it over the top of your scalp – enough to keep any fine baby hairs in place but not so much that it looks greasy.

5. SPLIT END PROTECTION
Although a trim is the only real solution for eliminating split ends (for now), you can still help protect your strands on a daily basis with a dash of hair oil. Incorporating it as part of your regular hair care routine could make all the difference in delaying your next visit to the salon. Put it on wet or dry hair—both work!

Everything You Need To Know About
Purple Shampoo

We may never really know if blondes have more fun. Nevertheless, whether you’re bottle blonde or naturally blessed, you know there’s a fair bit of upkeep involved to keep the good times rolling. The key to keep your hair hues looking icy? A purple shampoo.

What is purple shampoo?
It’s exactly what it says on the bottle. A shampoo with purple pigments that keep brassy undertones at bay. Consider it your DIY tune-up to keep your new hue looking flawless for longer.

How does purple shampoo work?
While the concept of purple shampoo might sound a little crazy, it all comes back to colour theory. Purple is directly opposite yellow on the colour wheel, so the purple pigments neutralises any unwanted yellows brought out by things like sun or heat styling. While it won’t actually change the colour of your hair, it addresses the tone and nixes the brassiness. It’s basically your at-home toner.

How does purple shampoo fit in my routine?
Coloured shampoos should be used in conjunction with your regular shampoo and conditioning routine instead of replacing them entirely. If you're washing your hair thrice a week, introduce purple shampoo for the fourth wash. Overdoing the purple shampoo can leave hair colour looking dull and drap, which is the opposite of what you want!
All-over blondes will find the top of the hair more golden than the ends, so we recommend applying a concentrated amount of purple at the crown and letting it run out as you lather and rinse. The ends will catch the colour (they don't need as much anyway), so let it drizzle through.

Do I need purple shampoo?
Blonde hair does need more maintainence, but purple shampoo works across the colour spectrum. Dark hair is more prone to brassiness due to the amount of melanin it has, so brunettes will find purple shampoo surprisingly useful to get rid of those warm hues.

Where do I find purple shampoo?
Right here. Meet the brand NEW Elvive Anti-Brassiness Purple Shampoo, designed to hydrate, tone and revive coloured hair.
