Rated 2 out of 5 by from I received three products in the L'Oreal Paris Botanical Fresh Care Lavender Soothing Therapy range as part of a trial a few weeks ago and must admit that I'm not a fan of this range. First of all, the fragrance is too strong and lingers for days. The packaging was good and the conditioner was quite thick and creamy, you don't need to use too much. Unfortunately this range didn't seem to suit my hair that well and even after using the conditioner, my hair felt rough whilst wet. Once dried it did feel ok and wasn't weighed down by the conditioner. Given the price point, it's not something I would purchase as my hair wasn't amazing after using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This balm feels  like a mask. Love the pretty tube packaging.\nScent is relaxing, from lavender natural essential oil, but it does not linger for too long. After hair is dry, scent goes away, no perfume of any kind left.\nThe balm is so gentle. And yes, soothing. I had itchy scalp and leaving this on for a while (5ish plus minutes). After washing and hair is air dry, not itchy any more.\nThe balm leaves no slippy feel so hair is slightly harder to brush when wet or dry.  Also balm does not weigh the hair down. My hair stays full of body and it is so soft.\nPackaging and the formula are Eco friendly and good for sensitive scalp.\n\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Conditioning balm comes in an attractive bottle and the packaging appears quite high- end and expensive. Very importaintly it is 100% recyclable. The bottle contained no instructions as to how long it should be left on after shampooing and on the back it was described as a botanical CONCOCTION, a word which I find quite negative and lacking. The product felt more like a detangling lotion and really did not give me the moisture kick I would expect from a good conditioner. My hair ended up looking fluffy and thin with very little body and shine. The fragrance is quite overpowering. Sorry but I won't be back fir this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect match for the shampoo from the same range, another perfect smelling lavender product, not over powering, but divine.  Though the shampoo is in a tall round slim pump action bottle, this conditioner is in a squeeze tube, smaller in size. Still the beautiful dark brown recycled product.  First I thought the size was too small, usually I need heaps of conditioner, but a little of this one (conditioner) goes a long way.  It is of a very thick consistency, but spreads nicely onto the hair.  Rinsing out after a few minutes.  Using this along with the shampoo made my hair look healthier and shinier. I look forward to continue using this beaut range over a longer period.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from When using the L’Oréal Paris Botanicals Fresh Care Lavender Conditioner with the shampoo it cleans your hair beautifully. The smell of the product is lovely and it leaves your hair smelling gorgeous all day. I do find that if you dry your hair with a hair towel and it does tangle however if you can get past the tangles this is a great product. If you have a detangling brush this is no issue. It leaves your hair soft and shiny when it is dried and I didn't need to use a straightener with this product. It is extremely gentle on sensitive skin and great for fine hair as it doesn't leave it flat or weighed down. I absolutely love this product and I am already recommending it to other people.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use heat tools on my hair every single day, so a good conditioner is important to me - and the L'Oreal Paris Botanicals Fresh Care Lavender conditioner did not disappoint! \n\n After applying the conditioner in the shower and leaving it on for two minutes, my hair felt so silky and beautifully soft - there was that great feeling where you run your fingers straight through your hair under the water without catching on any knots! I was really happy that there were no silicones in the formula, so there will be no product buildup to worry about.\n\nI loved the lavender scent so much that I used quite a generous amount, and I could still smell it after straightening my hair, which felt amazing! \n

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have straight, fine hair so find it challenging using hair products and often struggle to find conditioners that don't leave my hair weighed down feeling more oily after I have washed it.  It was such a relief to discover the Botanicals Fresh Care Lavender Soothing Therapy Conditioning Balm was an exception to this rule. My hair felt fantastic after using this (along with the shampoo range!). It gleamed with a natural shiny glow and to top it off it smells beautiful with the lavender aroma! Love it!\n\n Along with the delicious lavender scent, this conditioner leaves my hair shining.\n

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The pack was a bit fiddly - found opening it in the shower a bit tricky - but managed.  Would prefer it to be easier.\nThe smell and texture were good - I was not sure how much to use but it worked ok - i have mid length curly hair - though very fine.  My hair was definitely fuller after using the shampoo and conditioner.  The smell was nice but not overpowering which i was worried about.  My hair is maybe a little frizzier than normal but has stayed clean feeling for a few days which is good.\nGood price for this and the shampoo.  It could maybe a little richer/conditioning for me.  \n

Top 5 ways To Use A Hair Oil

Not sure how to handle hair oils? Don’t worry, we'll show you how to use them—even on fine hair.

HOW TO USE HAIR OIL

1. PRE-SHAMPOO TREATMENT
Our tresses go through a lot on a daily basis— everything from hot water to straightening can leave hair feeling brittle and parched. Try using hair oil as a pre-shampoo prep. Moisturising the strands before washing will help it retain its natural oils. Just add an extra step of applying hair oil before you shower and follow with shampoo and conditioner as usual. We promise, you’ll see the difference.

2. LIGHTWEIGHT SHINE
When you have fine hair, it’s easy to tip over into heavy handed territory with styling products. Unfortunately, doing so weighs hair down and gives it an overly oily sheen. Instead of piling on the products, apply a coin-sized amount of hair oil onto dry ends, steering clear of your roots. This way, you can enjoy silky shine without the added weight.

3. BLOWOUT PREP
It’s hard to get your at-home blowouts to match salon styled waves. While it may well be because the hairdryer is a finicky tool to master, there are other secret tricks of the trade to elevate your DIY look. The easiest hack is to add hair oil into the mix (and a heat protectant). Apply to damp hair and blow-dry with a round brush. Finish with a spritz of lightweight hair spray to lock in that smooth shine!

4. TAME FRIZZ
If you’re a victim of hat hair or the dreaded humid hair poof, you’re definitely not alone. Unruly hair plagues us all from time to time, but thankfully hair oil can help tame frizz and flyaways. Rub one to two pumps of hair oil between your palms, running it through the lengths of your hair. Once you only have a tiny amount left, smooth it over the top of your scalp – enough to keep any fine baby hairs in place but not so much that it looks greasy.

5. SPLIT END PROTECTION
Although a trim is the only real solution for eliminating split ends (for now), you can still help protect your strands on a daily basis with a dash of hair oil. Incorporating it as part of your regular hair care routine could make all the difference in delaying your next visit to the salon. Put it on wet or dry hair—both work!

Everything You Need To Know About
Purple Shampoo

We may never really know if blondes have more fun. Nevertheless, whether you’re bottle blonde or naturally blessed, you know there’s a fair bit of upkeep involved to keep the good times rolling. The key to keep your hair hues looking icy? A purple shampoo.

What is purple shampoo?
It’s exactly what it says on the bottle. A shampoo with purple pigments that keep brassy undertones at bay. Consider it your DIY tune-up to keep your new hue looking flawless for longer.

How does purple shampoo work?
While the concept of purple shampoo might sound a little crazy, it all comes back to colour theory. Purple is directly opposite yellow on the colour wheel, so the purple pigments neutralises any unwanted yellows brought out by things like sun or heat styling. While it won’t actually change the colour of your hair, it addresses the tone and nixes the brassiness. It’s basically your at-home toner.

How does purple shampoo fit in my routine?
Coloured shampoos should be used in conjunction with your regular shampoo and conditioning routine instead of replacing them entirely. If you're washing your hair thrice a week, introduce purple shampoo for the fourth wash. Overdoing the purple shampoo can leave hair colour looking dull and drap, which is the opposite of what you want!
All-over blondes will find the top of the hair more golden than the ends, so we recommend applying a concentrated amount of purple at the crown and letting it run out as you lather and rinse. The ends will catch the colour (they don't need as much anyway), so let it drizzle through.

Do I need purple shampoo?
Blonde hair does need more maintainence, but purple shampoo works across the colour spectrum. Dark hair is more prone to brassiness due to the amount of melanin it has, so brunettes will find purple shampoo surprisingly useful to get rid of those warm hues.

Where do I find purple shampoo?
Right here. Meet the brand NEW Elvive Anti-Brassiness Purple Shampoo, designed to hydrate, tone and revive coloured hair.
